However, after watching Kentucky put 28 up on the board against UF, I'm really worried about our team...

IF UK had to play the Gator D starters the whole game like UT did they wouldn't have had more than those 7 early points. They were being completely shut down.

But like I said before, UK's first string is pretty much a second string. Surely the drop off in talent isn't that bad at UF. :shades:

Not if the Tide doesn't find some offense. Brodie looked ordinary today. Hard to believe that Arkansas is that good on defense.

Me too, special teams needs to be locked down.  However, after watching Kentucky put 28 up on the board against UF, I'm really worried about our team...

I think that even with the special teams mistakes, if we had a shred of offense in that second half, it would have been our victory.

Yep. Seems like we keep tripping over our own feet when we have the ball, with a speck of success here and there.

Here's the thing...we are Vol fans, and as such we have to accept that we have never had, don't have, and never will have a high powered offense under Phil Fulmer.  His coaching staff is just that...his.  And as such, they do things the way he wants...which is old school.  Younger coaches who have grown up under a different set of rules have different ideas on how the game should be played.  That means high powered offenses.  UT's only saving grace is that they do manage to bring a strong defense to the table each year to keep other teams scoring totals down.  You really get to see how UT fairs during bowl season.  A&M had a poor showing, but how about Clemson, K-State, or even Nebraska?  UT generally gets exposed when they have to deal with another team who has a terrific defense, yet can score fast and often on offense.  I think we are really lucky we are in the SEC where 14 points can win games.

In the Sanders era as OC we have lost 10 more games and averaged less points than when Cutcliffe was the OC...Numbers dont lie....

You think we have a bad defense???  Look at the LSU defense for one game  +++The LSU defense faced a  offense and struggled and failed to slow Arizona State's passing, allowing 560 total yards as Arizona State QB Sam Keller completed 35 of 56 passes for 461 yards and four touchdowns. CB Ronnie Prude continued to struggle in coverage and the Tigers showed they have a lot of work to do to improve their pass rush. So here is what I think The two qb's we have should pick LSU's defense apart LSU's CB Ronnie Prude will be the same player on Monday night as he was against AS

Didnt say the defense was bad..the secondary over the past few years especially against Florida have given up way too many 3rd and longs...Just an observation that seems like more than just me have noticed....when you constantl let teams out of the hole on 3rd and long, you are gonna lose the field position battle.....

:hi: I find it very difficult indeed to comment favorably about Arkansas's defense. This is the same team that let Vandy beat them and gave up 70 points to USC. I think the Arkansas/Alabama game says more about Alabama's offense than Arkansas's defense. Arkansas mave have already had more points scored against them than they will score this year on offense.

I also think the Arkansas/Alabama game says a lot about Alabama's run defense, porous as a sieve, when facing a decent offensive line.
