When I seen him at the spring game i was truly impressed he was laying hits on hard i really think Rico will step up big in what will be a very unproven LB core tell me what you guys think

I look for Jarod Mayo to bust out. I think the LB's are solid but unproven. I think the play of Andre Mathis and Myers White will be crucial to that unit. But I think McCoy is going to be hell for opposing offenses.

I think McCoy will be a stud if he can stay healthy and take care of his knees. I hope he isn't plagued with injuries the way that Kevin Simon was. I'm really not worried about the linebacking corp this year. If the Cheif says that he has a good group of linebackers then I believe him. I can't wait until they strap it on in September.

McCoy's problem was his foot not his knee. Mayo is the one with knee problems. If McCoy and Mayo are fully healthy for the next three seasons I think they will be the best Outside Linebacker duo in the country. They are that talented.

Honestly, the first thought that came to my mind after reading that post was that I hope you haven't graduated from school yet. I usually try to stay away from criticizing people's grammar on a bulletin board because people often have typos, or they just don't proofread their comments before they post them. However, that's obviously not the case in your post. Punctuation and proper grammar are good things.

Regarding Rico McCoy, I hope he lives up to the hype.

I think MCCoy will be great, he dominated the scrimmages and spring game and has 3 more years to develop

Its hard to say. He hasn't played a single snap. I do know for a fact that the "buzz" over on the "hill" is that Rico McCoy is the going to be the next "star" coming out of the Tennessee program. Chavis and others absolutely believe he is going to be a great LB. I think our young LBs are as talented as any group Chavis has ever had to work with at Tennessee. McCoy, Mayo, Myers-White, and Mathis are going make a terrific group of LBs. Youth and inexperience could hurt at times next year, but our LB unit will be a HUGE strength in the near future. Obviously Mayo had the knee injury and McCoy had the foot injury so there has to be some "concern" there, but odds are they will both be fine and end up being very good.

I think Rico McCoy is a future star. Chavis and Brooks have done an excellent job developing talent at LB and DL. UT has had few top prospects at those two positions who didnt develop. I think this is the reason UT has been successful recruiting top prospects at these positions.

The only player I can think of immediately who didn't develop is Daniel Brooks, and he seemed to be beyond help. If the rest of the coaching staff developed their players as well, UT would be in great shape.

If I remember correctly, the sad season we experienced last year was NOT due to subpar performances on defense. While I realize we lost a lot of talent on defense, the offense must step up the production (quit dropping passes, quit fumbling the ball and BLOCK for all the above). Coach Chavis will have the defense OK. The ball's in your court Coach Cut.
