Only thing that makes prosecution of Thompson et al tricky is the Constitutional provision that says that members of Congress are immune from prosecution for most crimes as long as they are performing their duties while Congress is in session. I can see them making an attempt to claim that it even covers crimes like destroying evidence. Not sure the courts would accept that; but I expect to see an attempt made
