Is the Curse finally lifted?

With the recent buzz of ggod news, former players and coaches, and early commits is it safe to say Dooley may have been the Lamb at the Alter of the Football Gods? Now if Majors and Fulmer would just hug it out the Vols would be sure to win the National Title in 14

Not yet. I'll lift the Erik Ainge Curse in 2015... 10 years after that horrible endzone pass down in Baton Rouge.

Fulmer hug it out? His belly is so big he could barely clap after turnovers and opponent touchdowns, no way he's hugging somebody.

Pretty soon other SEC schools will start accusing Butch of cheating. Now when that happens you know things are turning around.

Lets win a few games first.

This.

CBJ isn't going to be full of empty promises and hot air like Dooley, and I don't think he'll be a one hit wonder like the traitor Kiffin.

But let him play a few games first. See if he can beat any SEC teams besides Kentucky and Vanderbilt. Heck, see if he can beat Mizzou. Though given that Mizzou seems to be the new doormat of the SEC, that shouldn't be a challenge.

The real answer to the question will be answered by December 2013.....I sure hope the curse has ran it's course

No curse dude. All teams go thru ups and downs (except for crappy teams like Pansybilt who typically never has an up, but I digress)

Think Alabama, Notre Dame, Michigan, Nebraska, USC as recent examples. We made a change away from Phil after a great run which included a national championship and about a 150-50 record or so. But we started to decline over 4-5 years so Phil was gone. Made 2 very, very bad hires for which we have paid dearly. These types of things happen to every major program over time. I think Alabama went through about 5 coaches and some really bad seasons after Stallings before turning it around, to say the least, when Saban came to town.

There's no curse. Just gotta coach the team and manage the program better to start winning again. I think Butch is gonna do both.

I don't think we had a curse--all programs go through want we went through. Mismanagement and incompetent hires are what doomed us. We still ain't out of the woods either. Butch still has to win games. Period. It ain't going to take a lot (and we won't be pulling off any undefeated seasons first go around) but we show progress and that will be enough considering what the last few years turned into. Butch is setting himself up well though--with Dooley there was all talk but behind the scenes he didn't know what the hell he was doing and it showed on the field. You can tell there is a plan with Butch and he seems capable and competent. A hell of a lot different than Dooley.
