Is the "QB controversy" over?

Should Ainge be named sole starting QB?

I still don't see Schaeffer becoming the starter.I think the more he sits on the sidelines the more he gets worried about his future at Tennessee. This boy wants to be a qb and a starting one at that.As it was posted by Bdbaggins,it's gonna take alot for Fulmer to make this kid stay and switch positions.I hope Schaeffer stays,he can do some great things for this program.

The competition is far from over. The difference is right now is Ainge is more comfortable with the system than Schaeffer and Schaeffer is pressing. Don't be surprised if both are still bracketed at the beginning of fall camp next year.

shot??? He did start the first 3 games. When Ainge was struggling against Auburn, Shaeffer could have come in and given the Vols a spark off of the bench.... instead he threw an interception.

I'm not saying that he's not good. From what I've seen he has the potential to be great. That move he made against UNLV to score the touchdown was second to none. But I think he's been given every opportunity to "get his shot" and is still getting more opportunities for "his shot". He and Ainge still split every rep in practice.

And Stewart wasn't that good at A&M

that was my point. sometimes guys think the pasture is greener on the other side of the fense. AJ Suggs is another example.

Milo I can understand. My problem with the PAC-10 is that they just don't seem to place much emphasis on defense. But they are fun to watch.

Yeah, even though the national title will probably not be going to the SEC in '05, I will give it credit as the best conference around. Pac 10 usually is right behind in my book, but this year, Pac 10 is looking pretty pathetic outside of the Golden State.
