Is the roster out yet for the baseball team?

My guess is he didn't want to compete for a job or thought he wasn't going to play this year. Who knows.

Come on don’t put this bs out there about why these kids are leaving.
Let me help you be more accurate

“they might not have wanted to compete OR the coaches kicked their asses to the curb because they were just a number”

Was just about to comment. You’re dead-on accurate.

Hey Tony! It's 30 hours before the first pitch for the 2020 season. Is it too much to ask for a Roster to be put out???

For the love of all things holy.......

He’s waiting to see who he can strong-arm or screw over with the 35 man roster pertaining to counters/schollys. Just like he did last year.

Lol

Told you guys all along you wouldn’t get it until the day before the first game

the fact is the NCAA should force the 35 man roster to be final the first day of second semester class. That way kids would at least have a chance to leave school and play in the spring

Absolutely false

Heres what I want to know regarding this subject and I don’t know the answer to it

Which is true?

1) players were told at Christmas that they might not be on the 35 but were welcome back to compete for a final spot to be announced just before the first game.

or
2) the 35 players on the roster were told at Christmas and others knew they didn’t make it but were welcomed back knowing they can’t practice once the season starts

I will say almost every player knows where they stand. I cannot guarantee every player knows but all my son's friend's except one knows where they stand and that is between him and the coach. And they were told at the end of fall meetings. I have seen nothing but honesty from the coaching staff in regards to my son through everything in recruiting and now being on the team through the fall and into the spring in pitching, playing a fielding position, and hitting. They have told him right where he fits in the plan and where he stands with the coaches and team. Just because kids get redshirted or cut does not mean coaches are lying. I know several players at UT and other schools that were told in recruiting, we will bring you in and give you a chance to compete. If you do what you have done in the past in HS and travel, we will have a spot for you this spring. If you do not because of injury or not continuing to compete at the level you have in the past, then we will redshirt you and give you a chance next year. Some that are not there now and in the past were given a chance to stay and redshirt or saw the writing on the wall and realized they would not get to play this spring and left. When my son was being recruited, we looked at what each offer had in relationship to LHP's, guys who were 2-way players and how many players my son would have to compete with just to get on the field then he made his choice. He had offers from other schools where he would have to beat out 10 LHP's just to get to pitch. He had offers where they guaranteed playing time at smaller schools and others that said come in on a preferred walk-on position and you will be guaranteed a spot your freshman fall but after that you have to earn it. We can only keep 35 in the spring. Every kid has to do their own due diligence and research the past and the future. How bad do you want to go to X school and what are you willing to risk. There are no guarantees in college sports. I've coached enough guys that have had to make the tough decision as to what offer to accept from walk-on, to preferred walk-on, to scholarship and in the rare case a full scholarship. I would say the only guys who are guaranteed a spot in today's world are full scholarship guys which is the rare occasion.
If a player is a freshman outfielder, it will be very hard to get playing time this year with the stellar talent that is there in the outfield. To me that is not the coaches' fault. They recruited good players and some got very good in the past year. Only three positions and 8-10 strong competitors for those three positions. I would not be surprised if they play 7-8 in the outfield this year.
I believe the roster is set but has not been put on the website. But it will have to be set by 12:01 tonight.

.

This is not true. If a player was on athletic $ this school year then their spot is a counter against the 35. They can relax
Knowing that their spot is there and the school can not get that spot back if they leave before the season

I understand they have a spot in the 35 but it does not mean they have a spot in the lineup. I know a couple of guys right now at other D1 programs that are taking a spot in the 35 because they are on athletic scholarship but do not have a spot on the team so my premise is true. They did not produce or a new coaching staff came in that did not see them fitting into the plan so they count against 35 but are not on team. Players are not guaranteed anything in today's world.
Yeah, He talks about leaving the flock to find the 1 that wandered off from the relationship but he also says our eternal destiny is covered by our choices that we make and when we make bad decisions there are repercussions. And I know several guys that have left UT or didn't come that this staff went out of their way to help them find a place that they did not have to do. I'm a lot more in the loop than you think when it comes to these guys reputation.
I will bet you are one of those guys who says God sends us to hell rather than we choose hell. I believe that God gives us a choice between heaven and hell and some choose hell. Don't understand how someone could do that but they do. And there are people who blame God for the bad things that happen in their lives rather than themselves and their choices.
I do not understand what your beef is with this coaching staff. Maybe I need to go back and read all of your posts to see what is your personal problem or you could just say it again for us new ones. I'm sure he cut someone or didn't sign someone close to you. I see the hurt in your words. All I can speak to is what this coaching staff has done for my son and that is honesty to this point and that is all I have to go on. I understand players don't always get what they want or interpret what they think the coach said to them but I've never heard anyone that this coaching staff has recruited say they point blank lied and I know several players that have left and some that were recruited that are other places because they made the choice. Some times honesty hurts.
I would really love to know where your pure HATRED for this coaching staff comes from and why you continue to come on this forum every day when you don't seem to support the players or coaches. I understand it is your perogative and freedom to do so but I can't imagine going somewhere regularly that I had such disdain for. Why would you want to daily surround yourself with hatred for someone or something? There is also something in the Bible about forgiving and getting rid of hatred in your life.

I have said many times I blame the rules as they are set up more so than I blame TV, Ark or any other program that use the rules to take advantage of kids.

The rules should limit over signing and the ability of coaches to keep those kids over the 35 limit on campus longer without having to release their roster until tonight.

The practice of over signing to cover yourself with the draft is understandable and should be defended. The practice of over signing to take as many numbers as possible so as to take advantage of the rules is plain ass wrong.

I have also said many times I don’t blame TV on a professional level for what’s he’s doing because it’s likely the only way to win here but also don’t have to support the immoral approach to his method. I won’t support it either.

As far as TV I’ll gladly “forgive” him and put my orange on and cheer loudly for the Vols if he will stop his method but we both know he won’t because it’s all fine and dang as long as “almost” all the players know the deal.

So you don't support being upfront with kids about where the stand and making sure they understand the process?

Good to know. Listen, these kids know the deal. Come in, compete, they pick the best 35, kids can stay or they can leave after that. Nothing wrong with it at all imo or you would be hearing outrage being yelled from the rooftops especially in today's social media society.

How many players every year do you think do not know that there is a chance they will not be in the top 35 come spring? Almost every player I have known that did not make the 35 at various schools of various levels and was released, cut, not kept, or redshirted knew there was a chance. Every player I have helped get to college knew the roster levels and were pretty close on how many players were going to be at fall workouts. They knew how many they had to beat out to be on roster in the spring. Some knew their chances were slim but committed or decided to walk-on anyway. Some success stories some failures. I do not think the failures are the coach’s fault. I know there are some that lie to players to get them there but most are very honest about what it will take to earn playing time and when they see that happening. But I also know some families and players do not really hear what the coach is saying but hear what they are hoping or want the coach to say. This is at all levels of college ball. Again we knew exactly how many LHP’s we’re going to be at fall workouts and how many my son would have to be out to earn playing time. We did a lot of research on a lot of teams they were interested in him. I could tell you how many players have been at each school during the falls of the past five years I could tell you how many players had been at each school during the falls of the past five years.

The supporters of TV have confirmed ALL the players don’t know where they stand.

So No I don’t support that. I also can confirm walk on players were promised money in year 2 and lied to about about that in the past by this staff.

So absolutely I won’t support that

There you go again.Sorry preacherman but telling 99 truths and 1 lie doesn’t make that lie ok.
I thought you of all people would know that one single lie is wrong.
