I'm not Hat but considering Harris is either ranked 1 or 2 at his position and 5 overall in the country, that seems like a no brainer. Not to mention he has a wider skill set.

Tough call. Everyone knows how much I value toughness and Pinkston also has that. He also comes from a storied high school program. That said, it's hard to pass on a guy will Harris' skill and versatility. I'd take Harris, but be happy with either.

Since I haven't really been following the recruitment of these guys, who are some current players you would compare them to hat?

Harris reminds me a lot of Carmelo after watching the highlights. Similar build, size, fluidity, and inside outside game.

You need to watch more basketball.

After seeing Mello play in person in High School...Harris isn't close and that is not knocking Harris. That is just how good Mello is.

I said his game reminds me of him. I didn't say "Hey, Harris is as good as Carmelo Anthony."

They play the same position, have similar height, and similar styles of play. I'm not the only one who thinks that either. Read quotes from his AAU coach and other scouting reports.

Thanks for the petty dig though. Maybe you should read more books so you understand English.

Quite the opposite from what I have been reading. The guys at NYCHoops.net were saying that Harris and Pinkston are fairly similar and that both would be a 4 type player. If that is the case, it make sense that Pinkston would hold off until Harris makes his choice.

I also saw the article where he said that he would like to play with Harris, but what else is he going to say? "No I don't want to play with him because he plays my same position and is better than me?" IMO that is just talk, and I don't blame him at all. He has to make the best choice for himself, and coming in with a top 5 talent at your position is probably not the wisest thing considering he could go somewhere else and be a star early.

I think Harris signs with us today, and you see Pinkston sign elsewhere in the Spring. I have no sources, but that is just my prediction based on everything I have been seen...

And BTW, if we get Harris, we should have a top 5 class. After the Selby situation, that would be an absolute coup. GBOB :rock:

I would go more with a JJ Hickson type, or even a litte slower Elton Brand = Pinkston. He is a beast on the boards, but does not have much of a jumper outside of 15-17 foot.

Harris is more of a Melo mold, but still not so dominate in HS at least with his 3-pt range. He is someone who can dominate like a Kevin Garnett because he is too tall for someone who plays the 3 but too quick and has an outside 19 ft jump shot that would create problems for a 4 to guard him that far from the basket. I would compare with him recently, a Devin Ebanks, Chris Singleton and ultimately a Kyle Singler (w/o the 3 pt range).
