Is this job that unattractive?

The perception is a coach has 3 years to be winning SEC titles. What coach wants to come to a program on the bottom and try to do that in 3 years.
That's BS.. If Dooley could have just been mediocre he'd still be here.. The guy won 5 SEC games in 3 years is why we're looking again...

Coaches aren't going to chase the money just because we can pay it. If they are gone in 3 years, who knows, they might not get another shot, so why take the chance. We have disadvantages in recruiting and the top coaches in football are in the SEC. You have to beat those coaches, who also have the benefit of better recruits within an hour of campus than we can find within a 4 hour radius.

Coaches know they aren't going to get much time, so is it worth it to leave a cush job with little pressure, or go after a payday and get lucky to get to an SEC title and keep your job.

We are in a tough spot and it's a hard time for a coach to come into UT and do well enough to stay for awhile, all things considered. These guys would love to coach for UT. It's the ancillary issues that hold them back, like winning, recruiting and the competition.

If Strong has turned us down, we are too cheap or broke for Patterson and we are TOO RIGHTEOUS for petrino then Phil is the only answer.

Rebuilding may be too harsh if we are talking about just players. If we get a good coach we may keep some juniors at key positions. But 3 mediocre years here could cause you to be a lifetime coordinator tho.

If phil is the answer then i'd like you to repeat the question please.

Im not sure we can give it away. Are we gonna go from dooley to fedora or jones? Why do we always seem to strikeout on our first 5 candidates? Feels just like the last debacle. Different AD this time so wtf?

Fedora would be a good hire. Don't mistake a lack of notoriety for a lack of ability.

However you look at it, we have been turned down by every acceptable coach we have offered it too. Now and 3 yrs ago. Why do we have to have a great salesman if the product he's selling is so good. Shouldn't it sell itself?
