There's something about volunteering to throw yourself out of a plane 1,000' above the ground five times that just changes you.Just a Five Jump Chump, but nothing beats the looks (and smoke sessions) my buddy and I got from our NCOs when We reported to our leg unit with those shiny wings on

Once you've done that, you've mastered fear. Not that you'll never be afraid again, only that you know how to function through it.
And it's not the first jump, either. That's just blind muscle memory at work.
For most folks, it's the second, third, or even fourth. When you know exactly what you're doing, you're fully conscious of it as you do it, and you still go through with it anyway.
There are other ways to get that confidence, but jump school is one of the most reliable.
I don't know why I'm telling you this, you already know it. Guess I was just tipping my cap at you for having done it.
