Traditionally, our kill ratios have always been out of this world.

Would China ally with Russia to combat the Naval and Air dominance the United States would pose?

Or, how about the Tom Clancy angle, Russia allying with NATO to combat China............

Another wild card.

Russia would probably try and sit out of a war between China and the US, so they would be the world power after we beat each other up.

Another big question would be what does Europe do?

Conscription also involves the lack of NCO's. One reason we became effective in WWII is because of them. Russia didnt have them and we had the ability to have troops get missions and think on their own to complete those missions. Russia had Officers that threw men into gun fire to wear out the Germans and they wouldnt make a decision without approval from the top.

Our WWII NCO's were better in military strategy then the Russian officers.

I think the Europe question would be what does Russia do.

I think Europe would stay out of a Southeast Asia brawl.

Very interesting things to think about!

I believe Russia would enter before the rest of Europe would. We could probably count on the British but the rest of Europe would only enter begrudgingly.

I still think if there is a war in Asia they would put pressure on their Arab allies to open another front. This is what would bring European countries into the fray.The most likely scenario to me would be China and Iran each opening up a front. If things went well Kim Jong Ill would enter so he would be on the right side.

Another scenario in the Russia/China vs the US.

Australia would join us. Russia will have significant problems of it own with a severly depleted military and border states that cant stand them. China is not well liked by just about all the other Asian countries, However look for India to join them. We would possibly see a new world alignment, where Europe wouldnt matter but sure would be nice.

Thats a good bet. China would have Iran, along with that the majority of the rest of the ME would be against Iran thus China.

Kim Jong Il would probably be too interested in South Korea. If he were to take them out quickly, then he would become a problem.

It could all depend on the middle east. If Iran could draw support from Muslims that could be the key in Asia. Islam is on the rise in that part of the world.

Look for the Sunni vs. Shia fight to take center stage for that region. Iran is the big boy on the block, However there are vastly more Sunni dominated countries then Shia (currently). Then you also have Isreal who very well could wipe Iran off the map. Question is would the Sunnis fight alongside the Isreali's?

Good point. I don't see them fighting on a common front unless you can somehow rally them around a common enemy. That would take some serious diplomacy to pull that off. It all depends on the clerics. If you can unite them their followers will not be too far behind.

Canada?

Pockets of Europe?

We are perfectly placed with a foothold in Afghanistan. Afghans and India are already at war in kashmire. They are an enemy of Afghans historically and you can assume that Pakistan would not want to see India take control of more land. Those are two possible allies. While their military is weak they are tenacious fighters and their underground gorilla tactics would make the French underground from WWII look like pansies.

I don't see South America entering the war. Though Chavez would do a lot of chest thumping. I could see them participating in some covert ops though.

I guess South America would probably do the same thing they have done before and give some troops and a lot of supplies. To which side I dont know, I would like to think most countries would not want to see a world dominated by Russia/China?

Iran teaming up with China we would lose our foothold in Afghanistan. Which probably would be a good thing, they would become their problem. Pakistan would almost assuredly go for whoever India opposes.

I think we would still have some of our CIA and special opps guys there as advisors giving them logistical support and information. If nothing else it would be a cheap way to put a thorn in the side of our enemies.

The hard part is how would you get them there? Afghanistan is sandwiched between Iran and China. India would most likely run over Pakistan, (that would be their dangling carrot) Russia would be fighting some of the Stan countries ( they wont want to go back to the old rule) then you have Afghanistan completely shut off.

Point taken. Where would the population go. If Pakistan can hold on to their eastern portion of the country could you see Afghans relocating there and in the mountains to conduct hit a run operations?

Afghans will fight until they are all dead or broker a deal.

The Chinese will offer the local warlords something they want so they will get access to the country, however, if the Chinese push too hard or overstay their welcome the fight is on.
