The modern state of Israel has seemed fully capable of fighting its own wars up to this point in time. I'm not an Israel apologist by any means, but we can't deny this fact. I agree it is concerning, and whether or not the US could become involved is also troublesome; however, I don't know that an Israeli strike would necessarily mean US military intervention. Let's hope things just work themselves out diplomatically, although there are no signs that will be the case.
