Sorry this is gonna be all over the place

Yea this loss hurts but Jesus people this team is still young. What has been accomplished in 2 years is insane and if you’re not happy about where we have come and where we are going maybe you should remove your self. When we win everyone is over the moon but when we lose dear lord. People saying Beamer is better than huepel etc. This is a result of coming into the game thinking it was easy on their senior night. Do we need to make defensive coaching changes absolutely. Milton will be the starter the next two games and a full offseason as starter they will work on his accuracy issues. We have good recruiting classes coming. All will be good just need to enjoy the rest of the year

We have just been spoiled. Fulmer was a victim of his success even though when he was let go, he was 100 games above. 500.
It is happening this year with Saban whom all Bama fans expect him to go. 13 - 0 every year. It simply ain't going to happen.
A 10-2 season for us is great, for Alabama, below par.
It is all about expectations. Don't raise the bar too quickly which has happened with this team. We still have some growing up to do. GO VOLS!

We are not a young team. Flowers, McCullough, Slaughter, McDonald, Hadden, Walker, Turnage. They are all Seniors and Juniors. There is not 1 players in secondary that will get drafted by the NFL. Lots of that is talent but also a lot is no coaching.

Go look at Georgia's program when they fired the long time coach and Smart took over. They improved enough to win the SEC division and would lose in the playoffs or the SEC championship game with Bama. They had decent to good offense but they only became a well rounded program ( being able to go toe to toe with Bama ) after about 3- 4 recruiting years. We're only year 2 into rebuilding a broken program and just need to recruit to fill our needs. Also need to evaluate the DC staff entirely.

When I say young I mean in this coaching staff they haven’t been able to settle into a system

This is true, we are not young as far as players, maybe young into the coaching regime but we are loaded with upperclassmen, SC played way more freshman than we did.

Gotta have a defensive shutdown against Vandy and win the Sugar Bowl and maybe the good will will come back. But anything short of that, absolutely not.

A loss to Vandy would negate any progress for 2022........at least for most Vol fans
Without Hooker, the Vols may be lucky to win 3 games, next year may be really bad

Some of the apologies and references people use are stunning.

"It was their senior night." - is this a rare occurrence or does this happen every season all around the country?

"It's happening this year with Saban....." - Alabama has had 5 or 6 championships in 14 seasons. They also lost in the last seconds on the road to what was thought of as two really good football teams.

Correct me if I'm wrong but won't the Vols be the 2nd team in the CFP era to be #1 in the initial poll but get left out of the CFP? The other was Mississippi State.

Remember, just 2 years ago, we were coming off the worst record in UT history, 3 - 7. Heupel came in and in one year got us to a bowl. This year, we were in the hunt for the playoffs. OK, 10 regular season wins is right on course for a second year coach. Access what went wrong, try to get them fixed by next week. Vandy is on a 2 game win streak. Let's not make it 3.

We will know if this is the case in six days. The season hangs on a knife’s edge right now. We can either grow or we can crash. But where we are isn’t sustainable.
