Go look at Georgia's program when they fired the long time coach and Smart took over. They improved enough to win the SEC division and would lose in the playoffs or the SEC championship game with Bama. They had decent to good offense but they only became a well rounded program ( being able to go toe to toe with Bama ) after about 3- 4 recruiting years. We're only year 2 into rebuilding a broken program and just need to recruit to fill our needs. Also need to evaluate the DC staff entirely.

We just got boat raced by a team we absolutely slaughtered last season that we were favored by 23 points over. Time and talent isn’t the problem here. I’m definitely not saying Heupel is the problem, but there is problem that has developed over the past 2 weeks within the program that recruiting and time alone simply isn’t going to fix

Are you saying the defense laid down on purpose and just quit ? Personally, I do think it's talent on the defense/secondary side and that flaw did not just happen yesterday but in fact it's been there all season. It's just happens the offense has covered the lack of skill players on defense in the backfield IMHO

We are not a young team. Flowers, McCullough, Slaughter, McDonald, Hadden, Walker, Turnage. They are all Seniors and Juniors. There is not 1 players in secondary that will get drafted by the NFL. Lots of that is talent but also a lot is no coaching.

Love them as VFL but outside of Flowers at times no one on this list is not keeping offensive coaches up at night

Yea this loss hurts but Jesus people this team is still young. What has been accomplished in 2 years is insane and if you’re not happy about where we have come and where we are going maybe you should remove your self. When we win everyone is over the moon but when we lose dear lord. People saying Beamer is better than huepel etc. This is a result of coming into the game thinking it was easy on their senior night. Do we need to make defensive coaching changes absolutely. Milton will be the starter the next two games and a full offseason as starter they will work on his accuracy issues. We have good recruiting classes coming. All will be good just need to enjoy the rest of the year

Meh need some speed in the backend and some guys who can and will flat lay a mfer out. This would fix a lot. You have to have real talent to play on an island, pass rush helps. We didnt have one last night, and havent really had much of one all season. What we have is a bunch of talkers.. we need players in the secondary and real leaders. I'm not impressed with DC Banks or Martinez but these guys have little talent if I am honest about the situation. I wont be disappointed if they scrub all of them. However we need more talent

We have just been spoiled. Fulmer was a victim of his success even though when he was let go, he was 100 games above. 500.
It is happening this year with Saban whom all Bama fans expect him to go. 13 - 0 every year. It simply ain't going to happen.
A 10-2 season for us is great, for Alabama, below par.
It is all about expectations. Don't raise the bar too quickly which has happened with this team. We still have some growing up to do. GO VOLS!

How can Tennessee be successful with the talent they have in secondary'... better get fixed or there will be many defensive games like this; I have been a Tennessee fan since 1956 and that was the worst defense play in one game I have ever seen by a Tennessee team.. ten drives ,9 touchdowns all long drives . Before this game South Carolina qb had 8 touchdowns for season .. 6 tds against Tennessee.
