....Regarding how many SEC teams actually get in. Now this is just my gut feeling.

FL and KY are locks, but KY's recent downslide has hurt the SEC. It's bumped KY to probably an 8 seed (especially if they lose to FL)

Arky, TN, and Mizzou are fighting for the 3/4 spot.

If Arky wins the rest of the conference games, they will take that 3rd spot and that's it.

If Arky loses just 1 more game, whoever wins the Mizzou/TN game takes the 4th spot (that's if both teams win their next game)

So if Arkansas wins out, and Tennessee wins out only 3 SEC teams get in?

But if Arkansas loses, and Tennessee wins out then 4 teams get in?

I'm not following what one has to do with the other?

Not if they lose more games. UT has the RPI, SOS, and head to head advantage. They cannot afford many more losses or losing in first round of SECT.

Right.

People thinking Arkansas is head and shoulders above Tennessee are out of touch with the resumes IMO.

If both teams win out Tennessee has the better resume.

Let me say this if we win this last two games we are in. I don't know about Arkansas but we are in.

I don't think you are grasping how the selection process works. Arky/UT/Mizzou are not fight for the 3rd or fourth bid for the SEC. They are fight against everyone to get one of the last few at large bids. All 3 could be left out or all the could get in. It's not like if Arky gets in the committee all looks at each other and says "okay who's the 4th SEC team, UT or Mizzou?" Or "Well, the SEC has their 3 in, that's it." That's just not how the process works.

Correct, a lot of people don't seem to understand that.

Theoretically if Arkansas and Tennessee win out, each win 2 games, and Missouri wins the SECT...5 teams from the SEC could get in.

I just think that the KY sweep and the fact that they could be 7-0 down the stretch (22-9) is a big deal.

TN would only be 5-2 down the stretch and (20-11)We beat Arky at home, not an away game. And we beat Mizzou.

If Mizzou runs the table and Arky wins, it's reversed. The SEC gets 4.

Scenario 1 ---
Arky Wins
TN wins
Mizzou loses

Arky In. TN out , Mizzou Out (3 SEC)

Scenario 2 ----
Arky wins
TN loses
Mizzou wins

Akry In, Mizzou In, TN out (4 SEC)

Scenario 3 ---
Arky loses
TN loses
Mizzou wins

Arky out, TN out, Mizzou In (3 SEC)

Scenario 4 ---
Arky Loses
TN wins
Mizzou loses

TN in, Mizzou (barely is IN), Arky out (SEC 4)

We just need to win the next two games and we not Arkansas will have the double bye then the question will be do we finish 3rd if Georiga loses one game or 4th if they don't we hold all the tie breakers. As for the NCAA upset winners in conference tournaments will have more to do with seeding and who gets in or left out but currently we are trending toward a 10th seed as long as we don't drop a game to someone experts feel we should beat. Key is making the semifinals or finals of the SEC Tournament better yet, still, is win it we have the automatic bid.

I just feel like Arkansas HAS to lose 1 more game and we have to win the rest of our games.

I don't think just because we win out we are guaranteed into the dance. I feel like Arkansas is ahead of us in the committee's eyes.

See this is where you're losing me, not sure of your thought process, but it's wrong as far as NCAA selection is.

Arkansas has nothing to do with Tennessee, if Tennessee wins they're in, I'm not sure how that's contingent on what Arkansas does?

They have 4 quality wins. we have 2.
They have one bad loss. we have 2, 3 if UTEP keeps bouncing and ends on the wrong side of 100.

If Arkansas and Tennessee both win out...

Arkansas has 4 quality wins
Tennessee has 4 quality wins

Arkansas has 1 bad loss
Tennessee has 2 bad loses

Arkansas has a RPI of 51
Tennessee has a RPI of 45

Arkansas has a SOS of 85
Tennessee has a SOS of 20

Arkansas has a OOC SOS of 198
Tennessee has a OOC SOS of 45

Arkansas best win: RPI 18
Tennessee best win: RPI 10

You be the judge.

One of their quality wins is on the bubble and has a losing conference record. No doubt sweeping UK is good, but they are trending down. Our UVA win and SOS are huge with comparing us to Arkansas. They played 7 teams who are RPI 200+ while we played 4. If you give us 3 more, then we have a better record. The Committee usually favors scheduling, but you never know.

As long as UT and Mizzou don't drop their games this week, I think the game on Saturday is shaping up to be a play-in game, regardless of what Arkansas does.
