What if JG pulls a Justin Coleman and becomes one of the best QBs in the league despite his college setbacks?

Crazy that Guarantano could get a shot while Josh Dobbs never saw the field even though he showed out constantly in the preseason.

Not crazy to me. He now has a real coach. I'd like to believe he also has an OL that consistently blocks. I believe that Auburn game we won, showed he had the tools, but not a viable coach. Least not one who knew what he was doing. In Dobb's case, I think he has the misfortune of not having a pro coach who appreciates Dobb's ability to creatively make plays. Some QBs are not as good when forced into being systemized. Michael Vick, Deshaun Watson, and Randall Cunningham are examples of creative QBs at their best when allowed to be what they are rather than systemized. I think Dobb's is the same type of QB. But his coaches are the boss, so....

Denver's OL has been among the worst the last 5 years.

If you go back and look at what Denver has trotted out at the QB position since Peyton retired, it makes a lot of sense. A franchise in utter disarray.

Getting the Bolen kids out was a necessary first step. Maybe the new ownership can eventually hire competent people and get it turned around.

Guarantano always had the talent to be a great QB. He just didn't have what it took between the ears and also had terrible coaching (which is responsible for his regression from season to season). You never knew what JG you were getting. One would look like a Heisman contender and beat a ranked Auburn team on the road, the other would throw 3 interceptions against Kentucky at home. Zero consistency.

It's a crazy game which oftentimes depends more on luck than skill. Having the right skill set to match with the offense a team plays, that team needing a player with the skillset, not getting injured, not being stuck as a 2nd/3rd stringer on some other team at the time of the 1st team's need, etc. So many things must align for a guy to be successful.

Not the best situation for him. Denver sucks, I don’t think OP is tracking NFL this season. He will likely get brutalized like he did at UT, if he plays.
