It Is My Sincere Hope...

I wasn't aware there were more than handful of people out there complaining about the SEC's treatment. Maybe I'm not reading enough posts.

How much better is the Big 10 than the SEC from top to bottom?
The sixth best team in the Big Ten beat a 7 seed last night. The sixth best team in the SEC isn't even in the NCAA Tournament. That should tell you something.

Problem with Hat's post is it's true. Even with my limited basketball knowledge I can see the SEC isn't good at all this year. Although his post may be hard to read and abrasive is doesn't make it false.

Off topic, but who makes the best pre-season college basketball previews & predictions? Blue Ribbon?

1. Find major bookie payrolls in Las Vegas
2. Look at the top
3. Those people make the best predictions.

FYI the same goes for any sport.

Predictions for what? Bookie predictions are for where the money is going to go, not for who is going to win. The opening lines are predicting the predictions of the bettors.

Exactly. Their only concern is protecting their 10 percent against missteps in the setting of the initial line.

I didn't even realize there were that many people that thought the SEC as a whole got screwed. I don't know how you can make a logical argument for Auburn or USCe or Florida to be in the tourney. I did, however, expect Tennessee to be higher than a 9. The problem was that in my opinion, Oklahoma State should have been higher than an 8 as well, so we wouldn't get much of a chance to show that we were slightly underrated. We wouldn't have gone far either way, though.

At the time, I thought the SEC got slighted a bit, especially considering some of the at-larges getting nods ahead of conference teams. In retrospect, however, the committee put in the tourney champion (auto,) the regular season champion, and the best other team in a weak conference, which really isn't that unfair. Had UT won and SC got the third nod under the same formula, I don't think there are any gripes at all.

UK is the only team left playing, and in 20 minutes that will be over.
