It Sickens Me To Have To Pull For Lane Kiffin This Weekend

I get it, but if we lose to UGA (or Vandy), regardless of OM/UGA results, we're going to potentially be in the mix with up to 6 other teams, where who knows how many teams will go to playoffs. NCAA will have a problem on their hands if the SEC gets screwed, so I think we'll get 4-5 teams in. I think we just beat UGA, and want OM to beat UGA...imagine the gnashing of teeth for UGA fans to not be in the first playoffs. Don't think will happen though. I still think ultimately, it's UGA/TX rematch in SECCG.

Reasonable.

If you want to win a natty, having UGA out of it increases your odds since their depth will be huge advantage in January.

But an Ole Miss win decreases our chances of making playoffs since 2 loss avenue really narrows...

Guess both can be true.

.......don't think this thread went the way OP thought it would.

Any other time I'd much rather see Kiffin get a "Stiffin", but like I said, It sickens me to have to pull for him this weekend.

I'll give you the final say.

God Bless Josh Heupel either way, at least we can all agree on that.
Get on the Lane train.

Yea on the first, nay on the second. Need Bama to keep winning for SOS. We don’t compare favorably to LSU if we both end up with two losses, given that they boat-raced Arky. Meanwhile we have a head-to-head dub over Bama along with a shot at beating the other team that beat them.
Yes I have read that to. It pains me a lot to pull for Bama in this game because its Bama and I like LSU. But I will do my duty for the Vols and pull for the Tide. Now if we beat GA all this doesn't matter and I will have the stain of pulling for the Tide, ha ha.

I think we want UGA to win this weekend

1. Dont want to play desperate UGA team
2. Helps SOS
3. Eliminates Ole Miss

If we play it forward, if Ole Miss beats UGA and UGA beats us, we are all 10-2 assuming win out. UGA gets in over us 100% and Ole Miss very well could (especially if LSU beats Bama).

If UGA beats Ole Miss and then beats us, we have a road loss against top 2 team and Ole Miss is eliminated. That is better for us.

Us Beating UGA is best case but UGA beating Ole Miss gives us more avenues to the playoff...
How bout Georgia loses to them, and us!

Just hoping Beck stays healthy. Don’t want UGA changing QBs before we play.
It will be our luck to knock Beck out of the game and they bring in someone who looks like a super star against us. I've seen it too many times this year. We need to stop taking out our opponents starting QB.

What we need is Georgia wins a hard fought game and they come into our game beaten up and a little distracted by their win.

I’m for two teams every Saturday, UT and whoever is playing bama. The third Saturday in October it’s just one. Lane doesn’t ever occupy my thoughts unless the Lane fans on here bring him up.

Only way I can do that is if Kiffin wins and UT wins out and some how a 2 loss Ole Piss gets in over a 2 loss puppy team.

This thread has disappointed me! I want to Georgia to lose, but it's clearly better for us if they win.

I will be happy to see one of these teams take an L though! If Georgia loses to Ole Miss they may realize they aren't as good as they have been and sh!t the bed in Athens against us!

My goodness we need the SEC to go to a 9 game schedule and forget all this foolishness.

FWIW - I'm with others here, we want Ole Piss to lose this weekend and lose by A LOT...like 3 or 4 scores lot.
That way when we beat UGA, we are in.

IF the worst of the worst happens and we lose to UGA by less than a TD, I think that gets UT into the CFP over Ole Piss.

We are obviously in if we win out, but if we lose to UGA and finish 10-2, the only ways I think we miss the playoffs is if:

1. Ole Miss beats UGA and takes our spot. Other spots go to UGA, LSU/Bama, Texas/A&M
2. A&M beats Texas, allowing both Texas schools to get in with UGA and the winner of LSU/Bama.

Regarding scenario #2, our best argument against the other two loss teams is that we beat Alabama. If Alabama loses, that argument loses it's strength. We need Alabama and Georgia to win. If they both lose, we must beat Georgia to get into the playoffs.

Why would we want Ole Miss to win? It hurts our strength of schedule and could allow them to sneak back into the playoff conversation. Not to mention it could make Georgia desperate during our game.

I agree, but it's going to be damn hard not to pull against UGA! A fellow VFL once said he would pull for Russia over bama.....

UGA will dominate Ole Miss because Lane Kiffin craps the bed in big time games. UGA will look scary as ever going into next week.

Yep, Omiss will jump out to a 10 point lead and then "fold up like a cheap suitcase". (John Holt RIP)
