Just wanted to say imo think we would be 6-1 if tyler bray would have stayed. He didnt know about pig, north, croom, lane, neal, smith, and our bad azz defense. PLUS HE MIGHT HAVE GOT DRAFTED HIGHER

I don't think Tyler could play for Butch. Plus...he took money with Couch. The season would be under a huge cloud.

Most likely Tyler would be too "cool" to buy into CBJ's system since he would have to be more of a team player. I can see CBJ getting tired of his antics and benching him.

It would have been a riot to see VN discussions as Bray sat the bench behind Worley and Peterman, as we lost and they grew into the role, because CBJ wouldn't put up with Bray's antics.

However, you can't discount the possibility that Bray could have responded to strong leadership and become a strong leader on the team. (But he still would have warmed the bench with Mo.)

I think there is something to be said about that. There is that saying that players will take on the personality of their coach.

Who knows how Bray would have turned out under a different coach. He had a ton of potential and under appropriate guidance, he could have been amazing. He had all of the physical tools to get it done but unfortunately from the outside looking in, it seems he did not get the type of leadership and guidance he needed to reach his potential. His issues were off the field, not necessarily on.

Someone should have had Inky with him every day as a life coach lol.

Move on.......

The best thing that happened to this team is that Bray is not part of it. The struggle right now will make us better in the end.

He's got possibly the best arm that UT has ever seen, but nothing between the ears. He wouldn't be able to play in a system like coach CBJ's. The team is playing like a team now, and I think that's in part to having leadership in the locker room which wasn't here last year. Tyler was most likely a cancer to the team similar to Da'Rick. I think he threw the Kentucky game 2 years ago and the Vandy game last year just to ensure Dooley's firing. Finding out that he took money was the last straw for me. There aren't many former players that I have 0 respect for, but he is certainly one of them.

Why do all the Tyler Bray fantasy owners keep forgetting this little tidbit?

I'm sure he feels quite the opposite. He got out just in time. He and Dooley made out like bandits. Well really just Dooley. Bray's antics did finally catch up with him on draft day.

With that being said, he had an amazing arm, but he lacked what is most important, heart and a desire to win. To me it seemed as though he was only out to help himself. That's just my opinion and I don't want to be to harsh on him but he wasn't my favorite and I wouldn't want him back even if he would have been eligible.

Although Worley is obviously far less talented I would still take him over Bray based on his mental toughness and heart alone.

Then again I wonder how different Bray would be if Butch were his head coach. I think that would have changed things drastically.

I don't think our record would be any better. I don't think we beat SC. He had 2 NFL players on offense. He had his chances. We would be 3-4 if over-rated stayed.

Butch may have been the one guy that could have reached Bray.
We'd have been 6-1 but not sure about the money thing.

No. He didn't have the right attitude to play for CBJ

Correct. Bray was pretty much out for padding his stats to glorify his draft status. Butch pretty much advised him the offense would be run heavy. This doesn't suit Bray's style. But had Hunter and Patterson stayed, he MIGHT have opted to stay as well. However, the two combined realities wouldn't let that happen.

Last season, he was in need of money but this season he is earning $400,000.00 and he is in the perfect situation for himself. He is not being pushed in to a starting role by a horrible team. He has a good coach and has no real pressure to perform immediately.

I think him leaving was a good move by him...

Forget that he took money. No one played well for Dooley because he was an unlikeable coach. If I played for Dooley I guess i would be in jail for rape because I would have shoved a football up his uptight a$$.
