It may take longer, but let's not do the whole "well, I can't make any judgements until 3 years have passed" silliness that people engaged in during Dooley's reign of terror. You should be able to tell very early on if the team is improving or not.

depends on which players stay and if the coach can coach in game. We were close vs some damn good teams. Then the team quit last night. We keep the core and make some halftime adjustments when we are in close games, we win 2 or 3 more (USCe, Mizzou, Miss St). And then we're not in the quitting mood (Vandy). we have talent.

Are we close to elite status? no. But we can still be "good".

Good Oline and decent running backs all back.. That's half the battle right there.. Need more speed and discipline on defense, a good season is possible..
