How many people are calling for Pearls head, one of the best basketball coaches to come through Tennessee. Even though he's screwed up a few times, he deserves a lot more respect than what some people are giving him

If he screwed up royally and the NCAA does by chance kill us with penalties, what would you say then? Did he "just screw up" or screw us.

I respect the progress our program has made since he got here. The incoming sanctions, not so much.

Some people just need to have something to complain about constantly. The NCAA wouldnt even have been looking around here if it weren't for Pearl making us relevant. As far as that goes too, they probably found all this out while they were looking into the other sports. The NCAA will slap us around some, but when its all over we will still be Tennessee and we will still have Pearl and we will still be winning games. Plain and simple. Say what you will, but check back with me in 2 years and we can talk about it.

Am I defending him because of the sanctions? No. But the last few games have left some people blood thirsty. I appreciate what he's done here at UT, if there are some that rather have Buzz, fine. Me, personally, like the W's and recruitng Pearl and Co. have brought to UT

I don't think he's under respected....I for one would have liked to have seen him let go....he has done well for the program though, but there are better coaches out there.....

Savannah is pretty nice.....I'm moving in July though

Pearl apologists are starting to remind me alot of those militant Micheal Jackson fans during the last years of his life.

I'd say the complaints about our basketball fanbase are valid, like the ones about how lame our crowds are, because I'm guessing most that show up have the same IQ as thinking like this show.

It's getting really tiring to see idiotic comments like this. For the last time, the only options are NOT Pearl or Buzz Peterson, and if you really think that, perhaps you should take up another hobby that doesn't make your brain hurt so much.

Really? Because if it wasn't for Pearl our basketball program wouldn't even be relevant. The options are better than Buzz BECAUSE of Pearl, who wanted the job of he UT bball job before Pearl arrived? Anyone who could have got us to the Elite 8? I think not. Attacking the IQ of someone who you have no clue about is pretty stupid in itself.

Not a Pearl apologist by far, I just think it's funny you wouldn't have anything to talk about except for the terrible bball program UT has if it wasn't for the man you want out of Knoxville, funny...really

A) Who was the AD who hired such bad basketball coaches before Pearl? I must have missed when he was reinstated. Surely you don't think having an AD that hated basketball had nothing to do with the horrible coaches we could attract.

B) So if you admit the options are now better, then why make a stupid comment about people rather having Buzz, indicating that if we don't have Pearl then obviously we're getting another Buzz Peterson? And please tell me, WHO are these people you claim would rather have Peterson?

I'm not saying anyone WANTS Peterson rather than Pearl, but the way people are acting, they are fooling themselves if they believe UT basketball would be relevant without Pearl. My point is we can now look for other coaches because of what Pearl has done here rather than a piss poor team we were before he arrived. If you claim we were worth sh*t before Pearl arrived you are fooling yourself, or you are smoking some really potent sh*t.

Bottom line, we are acting like a bunch of single child spoiled brats, that ironically enough, Pearl has turned us into.

If the Vols lose to N.Carolina in the Music City Bowl there will be some posters in the football forum wanting Coach Dooley to leave. We sure have some fickle fans.
