It's April and Rick Barnes decides to retire and join Saban. Who's your first 2 calls to?

Okay so you’re agreement with me… then why are you bickering with me? My statement was, paraphrasing, “he would definitely come back, but the admin doesn’t want him back.” Then another poster said he wouldn’t want to come back. You chimed in that I wasn’t informing anyone. Clearly one poster in this thread thinks Pearl would choose to stay at auburn, which isn’t true IF he got offered by UT. I informed that guy. I agree there’s no chance of it happening. We seem to be 100% on the same page… sooo, we good here, right?
Typo there grammar Hitler.

@Rockytop10nessee you could not be more wrong about that. Why would he want to come back here? He’s been at Auburn twice as long as he was here. Auburn is his home. He is the greatest coach in their history and has no reason to leave there unless he’s getting a clear upgrade/challenge at a blue blood. You people need to stop the obsession with Pearl. He’s long gone and no more a part of Tennessee than Buzz Peterson.
They need to?? Really? Why? To be like you?
How does it affect you?

“he would definitely come back, but the admin doesn’t want him back.”
Doubt he would come back and it is a moot point because the Admin doesn't want him back.

No need to mention him in the same statement with Tennessee Head BB Coach expect when referring to the past.

Plus by the time Barnes exited he will be an old man. We don't do Fulmer is the Only coach we have ever brought back and look how that worked out. Just added to 3 more years to the dysfunctional Athletic Department. It's not Bruce's choice because it will never be offered to him.
Some of you need to get over it.

The Arizona head coach, used to work for Mark Few, Tommy Lloyd, has a lot of success at a place where success is currently hard to come by, not the same program Lute Olsen assembled.

I know him and his son personally. He’d kiffin them in the middle of the night to come back to Tennessee. In terms of accomplishments he’s also our best coach in history. I know that’s going to upset you and you’re going to spew venom in response, but I’m just dealing in facts.
Tell him that having his horrible son on the court over Maymon was coaching malpractice. Also tell him to stop griping about how It didn’t have to fire him, it’s been over a decade. Tell them it’s from me, they’ll know what that means.

Don’t know how you can say that. We were picked to finish second to last in the SEC when he took over. Barnes was picked to finish second to last in his first year iirc. Pearl’s style allowed for earlier success, than Barnes’ style.
Pearl literally inherited CHRIS LOFTON my guy.

I get where you're coming from and agree 100 % about focusing on the here and now,but I think it's also fun to speculate on these things sometimes. I don't know about him coaching 7-10 more years, but hopefully he continues to have success as long as he's at Tennessee.
Agree, it's a discussion board and there is nothing wrong with this subject. They can always just scroll by if it's not their cup of tea.

Anybody that's coaching outside of the Big 10 and SEC are gonna listen when a team from one of those conferences calls. That's where all the money is moving forward. If Barnes where to retire in the next two or three years then some coaches you may have never invisioned being here could be in the mix.
