Tell that to an outmaned Va Tech squad when they played Miami. Why can't UT have well coached talent?
CPF would probably prefer to have a team of Tennesseans, problem is there is not enough speed in the state of Tennessee, and the highscool football is not up to par with the rest of the southeast. Speed kills in the SEC.
I hear these arguments about "Kentucky bred" basketball players all the time in Lexington, but it is a coaches responsibility to grab the best talent available from anywhere. IMO recruiting is the only reason CPF still has a job.

Lexvol...you have a good point. Although it can be argued that Miami's talent wasn't that far ahead of VaTech's. I watched that game, and the major difference appeared to be that Miami came into that game with more desire and an aggressive attitude. Which is another way to describe "heart". That game was a great example of what happens when you show up playing to win, as opposed to expecting to win because Kirk Herbstreit said you should. Hmmm...sounds a lot like another team we know, huh?
Speed kills, and defense wins championships. Two maxims of the game. No arguing those.
UT can have well-coached talent. Fact is, we already have the talent. All we need is the well-coached.
Nuff said.
