It's hard to believe we have the 5th longest active NCAAT streak

Here's the full list, although it hasn't been updated for this year. It's surprising how few teams have been able to put together streaks of five years plus.

Actually a lot of the traditional powers have had coaching turnover or other issues so not that big of a surprise. See Duke and UNC as an example which had a major coaching turnover.

Kentucky not being on the list is the only true surprise but their issues have been very public.

Kansas geez lol. Izzo too. That's just ridiculous. And to think the competition the big 12 and 10 have in basketball and these guys still put teams in every year. I think the Zags are seeing their conference elevated where it's not like Woman's basketball in the 90s and early 2000s. Lots of competition and good programs building up. Their conference championship isn't a given anymore.

I have no idea about Minnesota's basketball team this year. There are big brands that got or got overseeded on name alone. Michigan State was one of them

When TN plays the toughest schedule in the country, has far more Q1 wins with a similar record, they get put in the play-in game like they did against Iowa that one year....

We are getting close to getting in on our name because of Barnes. If we would make more noise in the NCAAT we would get the white glove treatment like Michigan State too.

And I wouldn't have guessed Colgate would be on the list.

Crazy that Duke, UK, and UNC (well obviously from last year for them) aren't on the list.

Michigan St's streak should have ended this year. The Baylor win is the only thing they had going for them. They went 19-14.... It might be controversial, but I think teams need to win 20 games unless they win the conference tournament in order to get in. The committee wanted them in for the simple fact that Izzo teams typically do well in the tournament...Over more deserving teams. I'm done with the rant.

Anywho, that's pretty cool about Tennessee. I thought the last time UNC missed it was 2010. A brain-fart about Carolina last year.

While Pitino didn't mention it specifically, it had to eat at him that MSU got a bid. It was sort of an odd year where teams who otherwise wouldn't have qualified as an at-large, won their conference tournaments and got the auto bid. That was a killer for St.Johns, Seton Hall etc

They missed it way back in 2023.
