It's real simple

And Alabama lost to Vandy, Ole Miss lost to Kentucky blah blah blah, some fans bish and moan and other fans bish and moan about fans that bish and moan. Everybody bishes and moans about something.

Lol.

And folks need to understand that these games don’t happen in a vacuum. Maybe Tennessee needed to lose to Arkansas in order to beat Florida and/or Alabama. If we beat Arkansas, who’s to say that doesn’t change the outcome of another game or multiple games down the road? Maybe it was a wake up call.

Our receivers need to step the hell up! Everyone else on this roster is doing their part. Yes the receivers are playing good but they haven’t played great YET this season. Props to them for setting the edge and blocking for Sampson but it’s time for them to be more consistent and help Nico in the passing game.

The Oline doesn't do their part regularly. They do for parts of the game, usually the 2nd half. But definitely not the whole game.

No. I am talking about a coach who has brought back a mediocre program and who has never won a championship.
Josh Heupel won a national championship as a player.

And he won a conference championship his very first season as a head coach.

Now, you'll probably come back with, "I only meant as a head coach at Tennessee." But if that's what you mean, that's what you should say.

Words are all we have here. We can't read each other's minds. Say what you mean, man

Go Vols!

All the complaining about the CFB ranking is pointless.

Win on Saturday they will hand you the keys to Atlanta and say "go get em" and Tennessee will jump to the top 4.

Lose on Saturday and they will doubt you every step the rest of the season.

Time to play big boy football and take this program to the next step. There's never been a better time than right now!

I tried to clip this from 46-57 seconds as it fits the title. “It’s real simple son!” I’m not sure what I did wrong.

Kiffin could. Why can’t Heupel? It is his job to produce wins. This could be a big moment for Heupel. Can he slay a dragon on the road?

Beating Alabama no longer counts I see….

I love how so many of you continue to move the goalposts.

Also, he’s produced 8 wins in 9 games already this season. And he likely will end up producing 10 or 11 out of 12. He most certainly is “producing wins.”

Finally, you omitted Kiffin’s loss to Ky, which is way worse than Arky.

they’re going to doubt us either way, I promise you after we win the storylines will all be what’s wrong with Georgia and is Georgia a bad football team.

I guess you forgot about the decade plus befor huep. It was their jobs to win, and I don’t remember any of them guys having us in the coversation for a playoff. Hell we was happy with a “good” bowl game 😂and huep has done it twice in 3 years. Cmon man

I think what most of us are frustrated about with the ranking is the fact that we already had that loss to Arkansas before the playoff committee ranked us ahead of Indiana and BYU and then they jumped them ahead of us for no apparent reason. If the committee thought we were better than those 2 teams last week nothing happened in our game or their games this past weekend that should have changed that.

That's the issue, and looking at this article about the rankings and this quote from the clown who is in charge, there is no rational explanation. This is why I hate this entire process, a bunch of bureaucrats making decisions based on something that isn't exactly clear. Indiana has beat up on no one, played a close game against a bad Michigan team at home, and jumps in the 'rankings'. Go figure.

“Tennessee,” Manuel said, “the offense has struggled some the second half of the season, not being consistent early in the year. And we just felt as a committee that at this time Indiana has been playing very well, a close win against Michigan, but other than that, they’ve dominated everyone they’ve played.”

“BYU,” Manuel said, “obviously undefeated, two wins against top-25 opponents, at SMU and against Kansas State. In looking at it, as we assessed all the teams, we just felt that Indiana and BYU earned the 5 and the 6 slot, and Tennessee stayed where they are.”

So Bama loss to Vandy is okay?
No but there 2 wins over Georgia and LSU on the road outweighs @ Oklahoma and a neutral site over the powerhouse NC state 🤷🏽‍♂️ this weekend is the biggest game since ‘22 Georgia and Alabama. A win Saturday changes the direction and narrative of Tennessee football. Win or lose everyone needs to enjoy we’re 8-1 with the legitimate shot at a championship this year. Not 4-5 looking to finish strong and a bowl game. Heupel has taken us so far and I’m honestly proud of our guys regardless of Saturdays outcome. 🍊

What is most concerning under the new format is there is little margin for poor play and the stakes are exceedingly high, such that following the self inflicted failure at Arkansas, a win over Georgia propels the program into the SEC championship game, probably against Texas, but a loss at Georgia gets the program in line for the Citrus Bowl as the playoff committee has already indicated their lack of interest in Tennessee's offensive performances this year and the regular season record of the programs which Tennessee has already defeated.

In many ways, the playoffs still have the style point requirements that were prevalant in the legacy two team and four team playoff configurations did, not only do you have to win, but your entire program has to look good in the process.

In comparing our resume to Bama’s, why omit our win over THEM? Some of y’all have really bought the media narrative. It’s like the TSIO didn’t even happen. 1731589764646.gif

I disagree that the complaining is pointless. Lots of people complained about Indiana and BYU being too low in the first ranking. I think that is part of the reason they put them so low. I think really loud fanbases and media do make a difference.

I think a win Saturday could propel us to either the 5 or 6 spot depending on how OSU plays…the 5 spot is the place to be…first round game at home against the lowest ranked team in the 12 and then a quarterfinal game against the lowest ranked power 4 conference champ.

This. Never pay attention to media. Lose and we still aren't back to the top echelon. Win and this is a three-loss Georgia team and they're not the same team they've been for the past few years etc etc. Just keep winning the next game on the schedule.

Just keep it very close until late in the 4th, then hopefully the OL kicks in to high gear and our RB committee can start to take over to finish out.

I agree but if we take a loss this Saturday it will take something beyond our control to make the playoffs. Bama will be in unless Auburn can win. I believe we can get win Saturday especially if Nico the guy
