It's Really Tough Being A Tennessee Fan Everywhere in the world (merged)

Because all i hear about is how the Suckeyes went 12-0 and regardless of the sanctions they all feel like they are National Champions. GBO

Regardless of not being able to fly, I feel like a bird!

They can feel how they want, in the end they are not allowed to compete for the championship.

This Ohio State team is probably one of the worst undefeated teams in the history of football

'Cause I'm the only one.

Everyone around here wears New York Yankees caps and thinks American football is for sissies. Still better'n bein' surrounded by Bammer fans, I guess.

Look on the bright side- you get to live in Sweden- consistently rated in the top 5 places to live in the world. Blonde women, high-income people who speak better english than anyone in Alabama. I envy you.

Try living in SW Michigan where you have Notre Dame, Michigan, and even Michigan State fans. They will be happy to see me pulling for the golden domers on Jan 7 cuz it would be a cold day in hades before I pull for the tide

But it's tough.

You really need to back up a comment like that with a reason. I've been a Vol fan since 1964. 18 of those years in Tennessee. I now reside in central alabama, and have never once waivered in my support of my Tennessee Vols. So without a good reason( I can't imagine one exist ) your statement doesn't make sense.

Its terrible, I lived in Columbus for 3 years! Now I am down in Fort Myers, Florida which is Columbus - South. Most annoying Fanbase in History!

I would just remind them of their schedule. They haven't played anyone. I honestly wouldn't have been surprised to see us beat them this year if given the opportunity.

I was in Sweden in September to Pickup a Volvo, most amazing women in the world. I would be in Heaven living there!!

They normally play 3 MAC schools a year.

Normally play 8 games at home every year.

Only rank teams they play are the ones in confrence.

I just hate OSU fans!

It's easy to be a Vol fan. Its been tough having to watch "Dooley-Ball" with all the losses it brought. Its also tough to put up with the low-class Bama, Gator, and LSU fans who are so prominent here in Southern Mississippi. Lord, please let me and my family move back to Tennessee><>

I will be praying that the good Lord opens a door for you to come home! Go Vols forever!!

There are some Alabama faithful here in Montgomery,al and surrounding area. But I find most are bandwagon fans. Only vocal when bama is up,can't seem to remember when bama was down cause they hide like the rodents they are. Seen alot of auburn converts this year. I myself fly my Vols flags, magnets, tell these uninformed souls it wasn't that long ago they were illrelevent. They don't crow so loud we you remind them about Utah. I have a friend who is now cheering about bama and championships, but when Tennessee was beating bama regularly, all he would say is"oh did they play? I only watch nascar now" It's not that hard being a Vols fan in alabama.

I have been a vol fan for over 40 years. My great grandmother attended games back in the early 1900s, this carried over to my grandparents who attended games off and on from the 30s to the 70s (grandfather died in '78), carried over to me and my parents who have attended games off and on from the 60s to today and now I attend with my 2 sons and lovely wife and great vol friends.

Me and the sons watched a replay of the '96 UT bama game my boys were amazed at the talent we had back then. I told them these things go in cycles and we will return to that level again my oldest said "dad don't worry we are VFLs no matter what" made me proud!! Go Vols forever!!

Considering all the recent beat downs in orangeville, you may be a little further behind the learning curve then you imagine.

A Bama fan with over 500 posts on a Vol site. I don't know why people think Bama fans are d-bags. Shouldn't you be celebrating your 9,000th national title (depending on who you ask)? I still don't know how many national titles it would take to get me to live in that state though. :peace2:

No one gives me problems up here in Wisconsin and I wear my Tennessee gear everywhere I go! I love being a Tennessee fan and I always will it is in my blood!!!! GO VOLS !!!

No way i could live in columbus!!

I live near Columbus as well. It's frustrating for sure. They think they're so amazing, my sister and brother in law especially think that since they went undefeated. As much as I love them, I seriously understand why people say Osu fans are the worst and most delusional. If Osu had UT's schedule they would've easily lost 4 games probably 5. I'm so sick if living here. I didn't wanna leave Knoxville/gatlinburg/the smokies when I went there and finally got to see the vols play back in septmber. In which I converted my mom :) not an Osu hater by any means, but it's frustrating being a die hard vol fan up here. Heck my brother in law didn't even know Dooley was in his 3rd year and that the big 12 didn't have a big 12 title game. Has no idea about UT football, didn't know we had such a huge stadium. I had to explain UT football to them. I'm 18 almost 19 and know more about college football history, everything to do with it than they do. I seriously wanna move down to Tennessee. I'm a born and raised northern, but my heart is with the south, the state of Tennessee and of course the vols! It's not only Osu fans up here either, there are obviously Michigan fans but it seems like we have just as many Kentucky fans as Osu fans. Makes me so sick. But every once in a while I find Tennessee fans and brightens my day! Go vols always!!!

How in the world would anyone think a full contact sport like American football is for sissies?

The helmet and pads.

They follow Aussie Rules football and rugby here. One of my buddies who lives here (in Gothenburg) was a DB for UCLA (his dad played at UCLA and in the NFL...you would recognize his name, but I will keep it private since he is not in the convo) and he played rugby for one of the better teams here. He was lightning fast (faster than anyone else on the team, definitely) and all the players were impressed, but he said rugby was a VERY rough sport.

Oddly, American football is growing in popularity pretty quickly over here. There are some local teams in Stockholm trying to get a league organized. Swedes are generally big and strong and very athletic. No fatties here.

I should add that it is kinda a running joke in Europe that American football is for sissies, but they know that isn't true. They are just getting back at us for calling their football (soccer) a sissy sport. Truth be told, I've seen more broken noses, busted teeth and black eyes in soccer here than in American football.

Not to mention amazingly clean nature (we swim in the waters in the middle of the city and drink from the lakes), almost no crime, a year-and-a-half off WITH PAY for parents when they have kids (which can be used until the child is eight years old), and universal health care that works.

Yeah, I can watch the Vols on television, thank you very much. :dance2:
