Big Josh sums it up better than most ever could.

Wholly $h!t I got goosebumps all over again. I started watching UT football in the late 60's, went to my 1st game in 1972, and I'm a VFL. You cannot put into words what it means to beat Bama and get back on the winning side of this rivalry. I've seen people post on VN over the years about why are we playing Bama every year, Florida is the most important rivalry, blah blah blah. If you know anything about the history of college football and the history of the Tennessee vs Alabama rivalry, you would never say that in a million years. We have played them over a 100 times and beaten them more than any other team. Before this 15 game mucked up losing streak to them, we were almost dead even in wins and losses against them. I'm praying we keep them as an annual opponent and annual rivalry when conference realignment happens in a couple of years. Anyone who watched before, during and after that game last Saturday knows exactly why we should and what I'm talking about when I say that.
Buck Bama and all they stand for but I do respect the rivalry, tradition, and history of this great game each year!
In the words of the late great Paul Bear Bryant, "I don't give a damn if we win another game, as long as we beat Tennessee it's all that matters"!

GO VOLS!

Whewee that had me cold chilled and cryin at the same time!

I was a year ahead of Dale Jones and Chris White at Bradley Central.
Played with them for 2 years. Dale was a real man when he was a junior he'd knock your head off in practice.
He wasn't quite as big as some of the other guys, but he played 100% every play.
Chris was a QB/Safety, and I was always surprised he never got a real shot at QB for Tennessee, he was smart as heck and could really sling it.
I played WR/Safety so I worked out with him quite a bit. Heck of a nice guy.
Both those guys are VFL Legends.

Man I loved it when my Uncle Dale Jones played. Wish I would have been older to truly appreciate and comprehend it all and all that I got to experience because of him.

Whoever claimed this video is a bitch. Seriously one of the best hype videos evermade, and history lesson. If anyone happens to have a copy please post it.

I’ve been looking for it online, nothing. That phone call was on Basilio’s show, so I’m wondering if he owns the rights to those calls or any content that uses them. Not a lawyer, so just spitballing here.

If you download the Tony Basilio app, he's got it on there under previous podcasts. It's the one labeled "10-10-22 BigJosh Bama Call to Tony Basillio".

Also, he has the clip where he had Dale Jones on the show and Tony played Josh's call for Dale. Dale's emotional reaction to Josh's call may be even better than the call itself!

Yeah it seems the video has been scrubbed. You can still find the raw audio. Bad part is I cant remember the YouTube channel that made the video. Hopefully they re upload at some point.

Raw audio

That was call of the year, on ANYBODY'S show! I never react out loud to anything I hear on the radio, but I was listening to this live when Josh called in. I literally yelled out "hell yeah!" When I heard the passion in Josh's voice! What Josh said on that day, he said for a lot of us!

Such a great call - I heard it live! Dale's reaction was incredible - showed his immense love and appreciation for our beloved Vols. Thank you for posting - I for one find Basilio entertaining and not just a shill for Tennessee.

Any internet sleuths able to find this video? If I ever see it again, I’ll download it and save it to an external hard drive so it’ll never be lost.

Being older and more appreciative really resonates with me. I was 18 when we won in 98 and just thought it would always be that way. I'm just going to enjoy the ride no matter what happens the rest of the season.
Heupel can out coach Fisher any day of the week.

White wasn't going to beat out Alan Cockrell or Tony Robinson at QB.
