I just read the resurrected post from earlier this fall about changing the 3rd/4th quarter transition song of "Friends In Low Places" (BTW I'm not a fan of the song - it's way too depressing).

As a side note, I'm so glad they changed up the "Welcome To The Jungle" guitar intro on third down. After sitting through this 17 times during the Georgia State embarassment of 2019, I hoped I would never hear that again.

I really like the way they change it up now. Especially the one with the Star Wars Klaxon sound. I'm indifferent to the Star Wars franchise, but it has an ominous ring to it.

Your thoughts?

I wish they would just let the Pride of the Southland band handle the music. I know I sound like an old geezer, but I love the marching band!

I don’t mind stadium music during time outs, but during drives, I’d rather just hear the band.

You're not old, you just have taste. They play canned music during everything now. It's obnoxious sounding on television, and I can't say I find it much better live. Just a barrage of canned noise. You only hear the band during certain timeouts or after touchdowns - and even if you do hear the band after a score, they're still going to bookend it with that damn Joker song. Every time. Every stupid damn time. Remember when they used to play Rocky Top through to the next kickoff? Or lead in to having the crowd cheer "GO BIG ORANGE" through the kickoff? Not anymore. Gotta hurry it up and get all that out of the way so they can play Joker and the Thief. They might as well make Joker and the Thief our fight song with how often they play it. Hell, they practically have. Gah.

I love the guy. Last week, when UConn went for it on 4th, he said
“IT is…FOOURTH DOOOWWWWWWWWN…”

Something that is very annoying is the pride PA announcer deciding he needs to talk the entire time during pregame now. He has added more and more talking every year since he took over for Bill Williams.

Every time I hear third down and the bells come on I’m waiting for “For Whom the Bell Tolls” to play which would be nice.

I go to Giants games (they're still stuck in the lost decade where Vols have come out), but on third down they always put up former greats hyping the crowd. Would imagine if you put Al Wilson on the video board telling everyone to "get loud" on third down, it'd be more enjoyable than hearing the Star Wars Imperial March or other nonsense.

They should only play stuff over the PA to relieve the Pride, like when they’re coming down to the field before halftime. Really frustrating the frequency that they’re playing recorded music.
