I thought he kept us in the game. He's just a boneheaded play waiting to happen. You look at all that talent and wonder how LSU can have two losses, Russell has to be the dumbest stating qb in America. Danielson kept talking about his NFL arm, but they need to talk about his Pop Warner head.

I was hoping, but in my heart I knew we lost when they converted on 4 & 8. Russell did all he could to give us the game. LSU has, by far, more talent than we do on both sides of the ball.

LSU could have worse problems than to have a quarterback with Russell's physical skills, who still has room to improve. NFL quarterback coaches are drooling at the possibility of training Russell for pro football.

Could you imagine how dominating he could be in the NFL. but then again Colpepper (i think thats how its spelled) hasent faired very well.Sometimes he looks brilliant other times he looks plain bad.

I agree... he very well may be a dominating blocking tightend in the NFL.

If the NFL could train guys to be smarter, then Lawrence Taylor would still be playing. Im sure he'll get drafted, but my guess is that he flops in the league.

he did run all over us, but it was only his mistakes that gave us a chance to win, you take his errors away and they blow us out

I know the guy must have big hands; how does the ball seem to just fly out of his hand and he has no idea where it is going. When he got hurt I said please get up. My wife thought I was crazy but she saw later what I was talking about. It could of been Mauck all over again.

That is every game ever played man.

Take our mistakes away and we blow them out. Double edged sword.

im not talking about team mistakes, Im talking about the mistakes of one player in particular. Of course you can say that about any game, but im not talking about any game, Im talking about this game and his mistakes kept the Vols in it. Do you really disagree with that.

I have been wanting to say this but i did not want to start anything. If we had Ainge this game gets ugly.
He could have kept the chains moving. Not a knock on Crompton i thought he played well. But a healthy ainge and its another ballgame. and yes i know about if's and but's.

Russell's certainly hard to tackle in the backfield, but if not for his mistakes the game could have been a blowout.

Whatever happened with Ryan Perrilloux? I heard so much about him when he was being recruited.

And this has to be the dumbest post in America!

Good game and good luck on the rest of your season.

On the final lsu drive i just knew he was gonna throw another pick.
When that drive started I knew that would be the only way we could preserve the win.:frown:

I hate to say it as well but I agree with all of your points.:jpshakehead:

I just don't understand how he ran for nearly 80 yards. He looked like he was running in slow motion, with all the UT players just watching him.

R.P. is built almost just like Russell. He is big as well....6'3" and 222lbs. He has had limited playing time in the cupcake games....but hes got to get by Russell and Flynn first. If Russell stays for his senior year then R.P. will have 2 years to start. He is learning I hope and will make the most out of his last 2 years at LSU. I really dont think Russell will leave, he still has a lot to prove not only to the NFL, but hopefull to himself.

It's his long stride. He has tight end size at 6-6, 260, but not tight end speed. Russell runs a 4.9 and is not agile, but he is strong and and can move when he has to.

JR has more than enough athleticism to get it done. I was impressed with his scrambling during the game. He moves plenty well in the pocket, not to mention being able to sling it 50 yards with a small army hanging all over him.
