I thought he kept us in the game. He's just a boneheaded play waiting to happen. You look at all that talent and wonder how LSU can have two losses, Russell has to be the dumbest stating qb in America. Danielson kept talking about his NFL arm, but they need to talk about his Pop Warner head.

He's not a bonehead. The ball just seems to get away from him at times. He and EA have that in common, but he's worse. Especially considering how many times he's fumbled against us and Fla. Of course they called him down on the last one.

Russell has repeatedly made big mistakes in big games. He almost lost the game, which otherwise wouldn't have been close, for LSU yesterday.

LSU would be 9-0 if Russell wasn't so prone to mistakes - and if Les Miles wasn't running the show.

There's no such thing as a divisional championship within the conference.

You can finish first in your division, but it's not a title. The divisions are a seeding tool.

And I'm not biased there. I don't consider TN's "East titles" either.

do you really want to hang your hat on a division "championship"? that's kinda sad

No, wouldn't want to hang a hat on it, but to me as a fan, I'll take a qb that can come back in a hostile environment with your season on the line and a 106K fans cheering against you then complete a drive.

I'm not a smacker, but if you guy's don't believe JR is a player, you aren't football fans. He's a junior, 22-4 as a starter. Yeah, he makes mistakes, so does most college qb's, but his potential is crazy.

Yeah, he throws some crazy azz balls that you wonder "what was that" then he completes a 4th and
8th with no worries. He's young and talented - I hope he stays another year (i doubt he will)

Good luck next week against Arky!

Yeah, I cant hate too much on the guy. He did throw picks...we knew he would. But at the same time, he (lsu) made all the adjustments and put up 21 in the 2nd half. But...

1. He kept Tennessee in the game. Without those turnovers, Lsu blows us out.

2. He was able to run because the Tennessee defense was exhausted, not because he's such a good runner. They played almost 42 minutes on the field, even guys with 4.9 speed look fast.

All in all, though, it was the first "big" game Ive seen him win (and not the Auburn kicker win for lsu).

Ole Miss has a banner hanging in Vaught-Hemingway that says "2003 Western Conference Co-Champions" (with LSU).:birgits_giggle:

EDIT: Here is a picture I took just before this season. I was wrong, it doesn't say Co-Champions but LSU represented the West in the SEC CG if you will remember (National Championship year).

See that's the points I think are funny. Dude missed quite a few field goals last year, but we dropped touchdown passes from JR in the endzone (then missed a few field goals as well) but JR can't win a big game. Basically, you must suck if you can't win a big game -- I'm pretty sure most of the people here realize Peyton was pretty good, yet he couldn't beat Florida.

This is a team game and it's more than one qb - If you don't believe JR is a talent then I don't know what to tell you. No, he isn't Peyton, I don't believe many are but as a sensible LSU fan, I see the talent and the stats on the field. Half his interceptions this year are due to the receivers lack of concentration. You can laugh at me if you like, but he'll be a 1st rounder if he comes out next year. He needs to make better decisions sometimes, but take off your orange and white sunglasses/ EA is a very good qb, but he makes some throws he isn't supposed to.

Good luck next week fellas - sorry, I get a little upset when opposing fans and LSU fans don't realize the ability of certain players.
