It's all relative. For the price, it's "not very good"

Everyone is certainly entitled to their opinion....even when wrong. Jack Daniel's, good sir, is delicious and if $25 a bottle is too high......there's always Mad Dog 20/20 lol.

I'd rather save the $8 and get the 90proof Weller. It's better and the price is hard to beat.

Opinion which is fine. I know what I like and $8 is well......$8. The Gentleman suits me just fine.

If I'm going to bother buying whiskey to drink neat then I'm going to select a 12 year or older Islay scotch. Jack is not my taste but it is recognized around the world thanks to good marketing over a period of decades and the belief in the minds of many consumers that it's one of those rare things in life that won't go changing on you. The idea that you can drink the same stuff your grandfather sipped has some appeal. The new product lines confuse the message.

Compared to what?

I mean you're right, I'm being a little over critical, but pretty much any other whiskey in its price range is better. George Dickel is much better, and it's less expensive. Instead of trying to improve their current whiskey they're expanding their line to include another bad product.

I actually haven't tried Dickel but kudos for dropping one of the other TN whiskeys. :)

Calling it "another bad product" at this point though is premature and most certainly remains to be seen. If Fireball is the top selling cinnamon liquor why wouldn't JD venture into the field? At the very worst it doesn't compete and they stop producing it and sell off what's left.

If you're too stupid to get the difference between the old stuff and the new stuff, you weren't smart enough to get the original message to begin with.
