Jack Del Rio

Just speculating and not advocating, but as the current defensive coordinator for the Denver Broncos he is connected to Peyton Manning. Was previously thought to have been offered the USC job, and many have speculated that he would eventually land in college coaching. Yeah but circumstances were different. Del rio was coaching the Jags still at the time and if he walked away Jacksonville would be owed money that Del Rio didn't want to pay and USC wouldn't pay either.

I think Gruden and Cowher will be the only ones from the pros that we might talk too. If those two turn us down (which I think is very likely), then we will look to current or former head coaches on the collegiate level (ie Stoops, Davis, Mullen). If that's exhausted, then we will go of a top assistant at a top program (ie Smart) or look at smaller schools (ie Taggart).

I suspect the powers don't feel that we can wait until Denver no longer playing which is the earliest they could talk with him. might be middle of January
