Jackson Ross is a Weapon!

One of these days, Ross is going to go full Australian Rules and turn it upfield on a fake and everybody will forget the shanks in week 1.
They keep telling us he is fast. I hope the coach has given him the green light to run if there is an instance on 4th & short in the game where there's a breakdown and the sideline is open. That kind of play is a backbreaker!

Yea if I’m not mistaken, the punt we recovered was punted from his left foot.
Different spin for sure……
His punts don't spiral. It is essentially an end over end kick like a kickoff (same as any "rugby style" punt). The difference, he didn't play rugby, but Australian Rules Football. If you read the comment from Coach Ekeler about him being very accurate with the placement of his kicks, that also comes from his experience. In ARF, one teammate will run full speed and then kick the ball forward to a fellow teammate. If that person catches the kicked ball cleanly , they get a free kick toward the goal. Accurately placing the ball where their teammate is standing while running full speed in whatever direction you are heading is why he can kick with both feet, is accurate how he places the ball and is also considered a true athlete.

He’s never seen a snap of American football before Coming to Tennessee. He has to be going through a big learning curve. I’m betting he’s going to get several 1st downs with his arm or legs soon. We’ve already seen catching his punt is not so easy.
Even beyond that, he has never played wearing pads and a helmet before.
