Jaelen Gill- Transfer Portal (OSU)

My OSU friends tell me that Gill has legit talent but he's not a good enough receiver to be strictly slot and Ryan Day doesn't use smaller APB. I know Pruitt always pushes for bigger backs and I haven't seen Chaneys offense use a player like Gill. Is that just because we don't have a player with his talents? I don't know if he's the best fit for what we are trying to do but he is talented

Here's the problem, you don't have any scholarships left. We're already over the number. OK some of those were held by walk-ons and you can take those back but let's not become a school where you recruit a player, he comes here and does his best but you kick him to the side. Plus, you guys already want JT Daniels.

I’ve been seein these Hubbs (and Bruin) driven “take those back” references to scholarships that were given to FORMER walk ons. Anybody have any names where this has actually happened? We see the happy and crying videos of families and the players themselves. Seems we’d have some awareness, angry disappointed Tweets or some such of the other side of that coin...asking for people I’d never consider friends. 😏

Over 85 is not an issue. If it was, we wouldn't be over it already and every year.

But what if we add him and it pisses off Eric Grey, Tim Jordan and Ty Chandler and then they transfer out and then Lenneth Whitehead switches to linebacker and then transfers too and no other running backs want to come here? Who will play running back? $100 says we shouldn't sign him.

Do we think he fits what our offensive philosophy is? I see him going to more of a spread offense.

You forgot to mention the earthquake that destroyed Neyland, the flooding of the Tennessee River wiping out Knoxville, and the mudslide where The Hill fell off in to the river.

Tbf we were getting more spread last year, but JG struggled with that passing offense. I still think Chaney would like to get closer to spread/rpo/etc, ie how it looked under Maurer. He went after Haynes King and ended up with Holiday for a reason...but yeah I don't see us running OSU's offense immediately either.

I could see Gill ending up at a school like Minnesota. I think he would fit in will and would like to see Fleck get some talent.
