Jalin Hyatt left Wednesday's practice due to heat-related reasons

They don’t have that muscle mass or body fat ratio, either. Football players these days have enough muscle mass that it’s hard to keep sufficiently hydrated even without high heat.
I disagree. Getting and staying hydrated is a huge choir, but achievable even when your body has the mass these NFL guys have.

When I worked a shift outdoors in Pigeon Forge or at the Knoxvile Soo, I always drank at least two bottles of Gatorade.

So the key to handling the heat is running a mile in extreme heat and humidity and drinking very little water....

I think I'll take your word for it boss...

I would try to explain why I think it works for me, but that would require using three-syllable words.

Hydration is a proactive process. Can't wait until you're in the heat to drink water. If you know you're going to be outside a couple days during a heat wave, plenty of water needs to be consumed in the days prior to your outside activity

Jalin Hyatt clocked at record 24 miles per hour in training camp (on3.com)

OK he's FULLY hydrated now!

Only five wide receivers ran a faster 40-yard-dash time than former Tennessee wideout Jalin Hyatt at this year’s NFL Combine, recording a 4.40-second time. But apparently, Hyatt’s game speed that he’s displayed so far during New York Giants training camp has reached unprecedented heights.

Giants beat reporter Art Stapleton reported on Sunday that Hyatt has reached 24 miles per hour on the team’s GPS tracking technology ‘a few times’ throughout training camp so far. For context, the fastest speed ever recorded in NFL history during a game was clocked by Tyreek Hill in 2016 when he reached 23.2 miles per hour, and 27.8 miles per hour was the highest speed that legendary sprinter Usain Bolt reached during his career.

Hyatt has been impressive in Giants training camp, reportedly getting the best of the team’s first and second-team defense and even earning himself first-team reps with the offense.

I've done roofing in 100 degree weather, working through college... but we dang sure hauled all our shingles and tarpaper onto the roof first thing in the morning! I've also played WR at the hs level, through two-a-day practices in August.

I don't know how much running, cutting, and sprinting is involved with stucco, but I promise--there's no comparison with what a wide receiver does in practice to shingle or hot tar roofing.

I can only imagine what it's like on artificial turf in an area that used to be swamp and surrounded for miles by concrete and asphalt.
As proof that I played wide receiver, I mentioned running, cutting, and sprinting ...and totally forgot about blocking. ;)

Hopefully he had one to many the night before.

The heat up there can't be any worst than what he experienced here on a regular basis.

Plus the only football gear he had on was a helmet, no pads.
I was thinking the same thing. Ain't no way you can deal with the heat your entire life in the South but not in New York. He either partied too hard the night before or thought it wasn't too hot and failed to hydrate enough.

True. Watching the Yankees play the Braves in Atlanta the last 2 nights. Yankee players are sweating like they took a shower with their clothes on. Idk if they are drinking enough or didn't take the heat seriously.

Braves look like they're barely sweating.

Probably factored in why Atlanta won the first 2 games 🤔

Checking the recent weather in East Rutherford, NJ shows the high 80s with pretty typical humidity for the summer. They've likely been practicing in this kind of heat for quite a while.

I wonder how much liquor Jalin had the night before? There's likely a simple "out of his training routine" behavior behind this. Literally, a rookie mistake in training camp.

They have a training staff...they hit him with a bag or 2 of saline and he was brand new in probably 20mins. My sister used to be a paramedic...if i had a really bad hangover she would IV me a bag and the recovery is instant. Brand new man. Dehydration sucks for those of us who work outside though...it will be the reason my heart gives out early.
