Jamal Khashoggi

I'm comparing the suspect being shot by the cop without due process to the terrorist being killed in a drone attack without due process.
I know. Keep thinking. You will get there. A clue:

One has the advantage of being challenged constitutionally in court

Being put on a kill list does not

(In full disclosure I articulated myself poorly on my two previous posts)

... more stupid **** and I have to add this because he can’t quote
There’s no inconsistency. Show me where I assert race as a reason to not grant citizenship. I’m against it for all origin countries of non citizen parents having children here.

Note I said countries not races. Hopefully you understand the difference. But I don’t have my hopes up

Let me guess you wouldn't allow the children of people from Haiti, Saudi Arabia, Mexico, China, or Sudan to have citizenship even though they were born here, but if their parents were from Norway, Australia, or the UK it wouldn't be a problem.

You’d guess wrong. I said I’m against birthright citizenship. I don’t qualify that. But you sure want to so you don’t look like an idiot.

I bet ND40 and I see that the same way. Doesn't matter if the parents are from Haiti or Norway, or Mexico or Australia, the kid shouldn't be a US citizen if at least one parent isn't a US citizen. Doesn't even matter if they stayed in a Holiday Inn Express.

99% of US citizens are so because they were born here irregardless of their parent's citizenship. There are obvious racial undertones to your stance, my guess is if Jamal Kashogghi were named James Williams you wouldn't have an issue with the status of his children's citizenship.
Regardless, not irregardless. Irregardless isn't a word

And you’d be correct. If one parent is a citizen then I’m for the child being a citizen regardless of where they are born... except for California. **** California

Definition of irregardless

nonstandard
: REGARDLESSI told them that irregardless of what you read in books, they's some members of the theatrical profession that occasionally visits the place where they sleep.— Ring Lardner

Regardless, not irregardless. Irregardless isn't a word
Definition of IRREGARDLESS
Yes. It may not be a word that you like, or a word that you would use in a term paper, but irregardless certainly is a word. It has been in use for well over 200 years, employed by a large number of people across a wide geographic range and with a consistent meaning. That is why we, and well-nigh every other dictionary of modern English, define this word. Remember that a definition is not an endorsement of a word’s use.

Being ignorant about something for long periods of time makes it neither acceptable nor proper by professional standards

What a silly comment.
  • Silly. Original meaning: Blessed with worthiness.
You being an originalist and all.

Nice post.
  1. Nice: This word used to mean “silly, foolish, simple.” Far from the compliment it is today!
You being an originalist and all.

Well that's just awful.
  1. Awful: Awful things used to be “worthy of awe” for a variety of reasons, which is how we get expressions like “the awful majesty of God.”

It’s not a word regardless of your stupid defense of your illiterate buddy.

You just proved you can’t read. It says use regardless. Thanks for proving my assertion on you Mr M!
I never said to use irregardless instead of regardless. I just correctly pointed out that irregardless was a word.
It was you guys who were incorrectly claiming it wasn't in your attempts to make fun of Tyler.
Irregardless, I usually use regardless but occasionally use irregardless just for the fun of it.
