I don't really see anything offensive about what he had to say. Every HC has to be a salesman with an angle on why you should buy his product.

That said, he does get under the skin at other times.

It's the same thing with an obnoxious child at a restaurant...try though you might, they are almost impossible to ignore.

And so it is with Franklin. I count myself among the fans that are enjoying watching him write huge "ego-checks" with his big mouth.

It is going to be so rewarding to watch him get a mudhole stomped in his arrogant butt by most of the SEC coaches over the next few years, if he lasts that long.

I love trash-talkers. Especially when their trash-talk has to be backed up by their players.

Franklin's a douche, and sooner or later he'll have to eat his words.

Franklin and the "People's Republic of Vanderbilt"...perfect fit for one another.

Go Vols.

I'm excited to watch them go 5-7 this year. It'll be considered a good season for Vandy AND he'll have to be quiet for five seconds.

Out of the 5 TN recruits that signed with Vandy two of which had a UT offer and you can argue Jelks and Kimbrow didn't have legit offers, doesn't sound like dominating the state too me.

na man, those offers were legit. We didnt get em. plain and simple. ... You cant ask a girl out and get shot down then say you really didnt want her. Hell, i remember seeing articles about how we really want jelks and that even though he committed to vandy that we were still continuing to pursue him. They got those two. we had 2 losing seasons. lets admit it and move on by beating the high holy sh*t out of crandybuilt this year. We will send Jelks and Kimbrow running to play Juco after they realize what a mistake it was to choose them.

Jelks had a legit offer according to skeeter. The problem with him was our depth and him riding the pine. He made the right choice. Kimbrow didn't have a legit offer. Most of the credible posters here have said this. He wasn't allowed to even visit after he was here last summer. The staff wanted nothing to do with him. Character issues and flat out disrespectful is what was said.

Give him credit for improving Vandy and improving their recruiting. He is trying to move Vandy above KY in the east and is likely to do so. He will not be a threat to UT as our program continues to rebuild.

Horsecrap. He is selling Vanderbilts education. Coaches have tried to sell that for years to no avail. Now I dont know what gets kids want to play at Vandy but it obviously isnt that.

The Vanderbilt education doesn't count for much when the majority of the athletes take classes at Peabody College instead.

Other way around imo. At a school like Tennessee, you don't have to use Kiffin-like tactics to sell the program. At Vanderbilt, that is exactly what you have to do.

Candy is only a stepping stone for Franklin. If he ever gets an offer from a bigger program, and I mean "ever", he will bolt faster than you can say Candy. The man is a egotistical snake.

Kiffin had the fanbase excited and he may have went over the line a couple times, but his tactics of pi**ing other coaches off was fine with me. I know the dude's a prick, but we would have won the East year 2 under Kiffin imo.

He has to get an offer for another job first.
