Where’s he going? It’s UVA, they’re not firing a coach after two seasons. He’ll get at least four, and probably five years
It’s likely bad taste to say this but now that they’ve gotten the 1st game period and the 1st home game out of the way can they move on from last season? Announcers post-game said today was about more than football, last week was a “victory” just getting back out there. It’s a tragedy and it hurts but eventually the page has to turn and football becomes “more important” for lack of a better phrase. Hopefully for their sake they can do that and the media can stop mentioning it umpteen times during a game.

I'm completely with you. The media presentation of Virginia is completely excessive and unnecessary. Their first offensive play, what did ESPN's guy say? Of course, they spent three setences talking about the tragedy, and said nothing about the football play. The whole first quarter was just littered with commentary about it. I'm all for being respectful and acknowledging tragedy, but goodness, it was all they could talk about. And they had very little to say about Virginia itself - or at least, that's what it felt like.

Of course, this is par for ESPN's course over the past years. It's not about sports themselves, it's about the stories around the sports. Ugh.

Even with JMU winning, it was more about how "it's just a victory for UVA to be on the field". That's obviously not a true statement.
