Said that Tennessee should close on about five recruits that would propel UT's class into the top 10. Coming from Newberg, that says a lot----Newberg has no love for the Vols.

he knows no more than anyone else. I dont get into recruiting. i get excited when LOI is signed and faxed. KIds tell reporters and coaches too many different things.

JN is often on many of the Atlanta talk shows and has always seemed pretty credible. He is plugged in and hopefully is right. As to one of the above posts, he was never keen on the Vols due to #21.

Obviously this thread was not intended for you-------

With that stance, why read it? Some on here like to hear recruiting news.

We're already 11th. Top 10, huh? That's not a very bold prediction...of course we finish with a top 10 class.

thats true I didnt try to be negative Nancy but think how many people who say they have a feeling or I think you will be pleasantly surprised ends up falling flat on their face. I just need to knoiw one thing about recruiting. If a person committs and refuses to take not a single more visit I will respect his word (A. Douglas did that 1 visit to UT and that was it) All these jokers saying I am going to your school but gotta fly out tomorrow to other school. You just cant trust anyone.

Agreed. If Newberg is half right on his predictions that will be great news for the Vols.

Speaking of recruiting and closing on five recruits---do you guys see Dooley signing a full 27?

I think this is very possible. It may not be any names we are used to hearing as Kiffy went after the headliners. There are many under the radar that were interested in us but never had a shot and/or did not like Kiffy. Dooley will find steller players under the radar. With that said, we do need to fill positions for depth and truly believe he will coach a few up. :crossfingers:

I can agree with that. However and after reflecting, think of it as a job and you were offerred by several companies. Would you not do your due deligence and research them all and accept where you feel most comfortable. I do not think this is the case with Loften but we will see.

Point is, if UT finishes in Newberg's top 10, that's big. Newberg always ranks Tennessee's classes lower than the other services. I think he may be a GA homer.

i dont feel right telling every company I am taking the job but am going somewhere else. I thank you for giving a fair assessment unlike some of the posters who just say get out just to add to their post number total.
