Jannah Tucker Joining Lady Vols After Winter Break

She made the USA 18 team at age 17 which should tell you something. But didn't play her senior year in HS so she probably is far from being physically ready for college SEC style basketball.

No answer to whether she will be able to legally travel with the team - do redshirts get to travel??

I'm really glad that this lady gets to resume her life as normal. She will be an excellent lady vol soon enough. Welcome aboard.

What's sad is that Tucker is EXACTLY what this team lacks and needs--a winger with size and skills (ball handling, shooting). I'm sure that after sitting out a year her game is very rusty, but practicing with the team will get her ready for next year, assuming her knee is fully healed. It's unfortunate she didn't get here during the summer because she looks like the missing link.

I know she has an excellent outside shot and plays very good on the ball defense. I don't know how much she has been set back by the ACL injury but I expect with practicing with the team the rest of this season and then working during the summer she will be ready to go and be a big contributor next year.

Can not wait! With her being another year older, practicing with the team, she will be matured and probably won't be looking like a freshmen. Given the fact that she will be practicing with the team. I mean there's nothing like gametime experience but this wil definitely get her comfortable with the system, coaches, & players. Her & Nared will fill that void on the wing. So happy for her to join the team.

I've been surprised that she dresses out and participates in warmups. I expected it would be like other players we've had over the years who couldn't play; they typically wore sweats or street clothes.

Can somebody in the know go ahead and squash any hope I have that she might be available late in the season?

I wish she was able to play. Exactly the slasher to the basket we need to put pressure on defenses. Massengale goes to the basket a lot but she is to small to be effective Tucker is six foot tall could really help the team. She can also shoot the three at a good percentage.
