Kudos to Muschamp.

We value discipline highly at the University of Florida. Even if it is a 1st team All-American shutdown corner who would have been a 1st round draft pick after the 2011 season, in a scheme that relies heavily on man coverage from our corners.

Jenkins is an idiot.

Guys, this is official. Muschamp met with him this morning and made an announcement this afternoon.

Senior cornerback Janoris Jenkins is no longer part of the Florida football program.

Jenkins was dismissed from the team during a meeting Tuesday morning with first-year Gators head coach Will Muschamp. Jenkins could face more legal issues following his latest arrest early Saturday morning in Gainesville.

“After meeting with Janoris Jenkins today, we both felt it was in his best interest to move ahead to the next stage of his career,'' Muschamp said.

A Pahokee native who was a first-team All-SEC pick last season, Jenkins’ career at UF has been disrupted by repeated off-the-field issues, the most recent one costing him his spot on the roster.

Hate to hear this. I'm definitely no Gator fan just hate seeing wasted talent. Will he work out for a year and then try the draft or I'm assuming he can sign as a free agent assuming he passes a drug test?

This year we will definately be rebuilding. I think we have a chance of being competitive again in 2012 though. We would bring back on offense 8 or 9 starters, and on defense 6 or 7.

Jenkins would have been a 2 second or 3 round pick in this draft but came back bc Muschamp..if any of the stuff is true about the GDP vendetta with JJ then I have lost some faith in Muschamp....allowing the media and "hammer" of the GPD to influence his decision is unacceptable. Meyer may have given these kids too many chances but he NEVER allowed to the media to play apart in the punishment.

Completely unacceptable if that happens. I like Muschamp alot and think he will do well, but 7 wins won't cut it in his first year imo.

Get ready for it....he's giving Brantley a pass and now he boots the only CB outside of Riggs that has the talent to start in the SEC...now we have to rely on Moses Jenkins and J Brown or starting one of the freshmen stud..sorry but Muschamp allowed the media to make this choice for him.

You really think so? You think the GPD told him they were after JJ and all of those rumors, and he bit?
