I have no clue if they are similar players. I have never seen Jarnell play but hearing the scouting reports and watching his highlights it seems like he is similar to Sullinger. Similar size. Who's seen Stokes play? Is he similar to Sullinger?

If you pull up when someone asked the night he committed who he is close to. I posted Jared Sullinger most everyone else said Melo. I dont know for sure just going by what others saw of him.

He's trying to develop his game after Melo, with more of an inside presence.

He has a decent outside game. It's not Melo-like yet. He actually reminds me of a powerful Tobias Harris.

Inside he is like Sullinger but on the outside he is like Tobias.

I don't think Jarnell is that good inside. Sullinger (along with K-Love and Blake Griffin) is probably the best college post player in the last ten years.

Jarnell is an interesting blend. Just like Tobias. I'd say he's just a bigger version of him. Not Melo at all though. He won't rain 3's like he does.

I was talking more in play style then skill, Sully is one of the best Back To The Basket players i've ever seen.

Even then, Jarnell has more of a mid-range game and is more athletic.

All high school kids over 6'6 should watch Jared Sullinger in the post as requirement to play basketball.

Stokes is not really "like" any of these guys to be honest from what i have heard, and read. Jarnell has said himself he models his game after Melo and that that is who he is striving to be like. As said though he does not have the outside shot that melo does and honestly is probably not as athletic yet as melo. With that said, his post up and interior play is much more physical than melo.

If you were trying to compare i think it would be fair in comparing him to tobias and saying that, inside he is going to be more physical and pounding than tobias was. I aslo think though that his mid range and outside shot are a step ahead of Tobias as well. Jarnell i believe is also much more athletic than tobias, that was the knock on tobias is he isnt superior athletic, is honestly somewhat slow.

Doesn't remind me of Melo at all and it's untelling if he'll be as good as Sullinger. Maybe I haven't watched Sullinger play enough but I just don't find him that "elite". Great post player but I think Anthony Davis from Kentucky is better. Sullinger has more weight to push around but Davis looks like he uses his long body a lot better.

I have always thought sullinger is one of those great college players due to his size and skill set but that it won't translate to the nba. Not saying he won't get drafted because he absolutely will but he doesn't have that wow athletic build like an Anthony Davis that makes gm's drool. He does remind me somewhat of a Kevin love but his outside game is nowhere even close to loves. I hate to say it about sullinger because I do like him and I'll probably get bashed but he reminds me of Sean May's (sp?) from NC of about 5 years ago. Was a dominate big man inside for NC, but he wasn't NBA big or athletic and just didn't carry that success with him like many thought he would.

He's no where near as fluid as Melo going off the highlight videos I've seen. Melo is in an elite class when it comes to scoring, in the NBA.

Exactly and it is unfair for anybody out of high school to be compared to an NBA all star. Maybe a lot of this is caused by stokes himself because he has said many times, he models his game after melo and that's who he wants to be like. I know it is fun, but I tend to not prefer to compare hs kids to anybody. they are going to have their own style and if everyone is comparing the kid to melo, Davis, and sully then stokes will never live up to the unfair hype.

So he is wayne chism?

That honestly may not be too far off I think stokes will be a little stronger in the post than Wayne. Wayne was also a great interior defender had amazing footwork I don't know that stokes will have that initially. One big difference though is I fully expect stokes to have a mid range game that he'll use. With chism it was either 5 feet in or whine the 3 line.

I would say he is more of an Anthony Mason type. Athletic, has decent handles, but not the best outside shot.

Running Renaldo as the Small would make our lineup HUGE!!

And with golden at point that would be one slow lineup. I think the versatility though of being able to move guys around and go big or small is a benfit. I really just don't see renaldo getting much time at the 3, but maybe who knows. If he is able to play solid do on the oppositions 3 then it could definitely cause some nice mismatches.

Could we see Golden, Tatum, Maymom, Stokes and Hall on the court?
