His opinion is based on his last year here and the vitriol directed at his team and coach. He wasn't coached by Pearl. One could say that the way they were treated last year was a season long cheap shot at the expense of not being able to enjoy a tourney run and losing the only coach he knew whom he admired. The statement "Bruce is back,lol" is nothing compared to what they went through and he still represents UT to this day. A twitter quote by Stokes directed at someone who is coaching another team should not be hard to stomach. You may want to get that checked because Bruce has been gone for like five or six years. Jarnell has been gone less than a year and contributed to a sweet 16 and this fan base is still holding on to a cheater who is promoting another program.

Good grief....this thread is ridiculous.....Bruce Pearl is the enemy now and I hope he loses every single game he coaches.

It makes more sense then the Zo love that certain posters give but he is the enemy as well and I hope he never wins again.

So that's better than Dickey passing on Bill Self because he couldn't hire "that guy from Oral Roberts"? Or his comedy of errors that led him to have to hire that coaching legend Jerry Green?

What genius was Dickey listening to when he hired Wade effin Houston, or have you forgotten Dickey hired the worst men's basketball coach in our history to replace Don DeVoe? Yeah that was obviously the move of a great AD.

And let's not forget the last gem he hired, Buzz effin Peterson. Another awesome winner.

The only decent coach he hired, Kevin O'Neill, left UT for effin Northwestern. Let me repeat....Northwestern. You know why? Two words....Doug Dickey. He thought Dickey was an effin idiot.

I won't root for Auburn to beat the Vols, but I will root for them to beat KY, FL, and anyone else whose losing would benefit UT.

Pearl is a very good coach and immensely likeable. He's an even better song and dance/entertainer/confidence man. Wish him well but hope the Vols kick Auburn's @$$ on the 31st and every other time they play.

Saw a 30 for 30 the other night and did not know he was a team manager at Boston College after the point shaving incident in the 70s.

During his recruitment, it was said that Stokes didn't like Pearl. Only became interested in Tennessee after he left. Of course ultimately came because of the early playing opportunity.

Bruce Pearl threw UT under the bus in an attempt to cover his own ass. **** him. I hope Kentucky beats Auburn by 50.

Give another year to overhaul that roster. Then Pearl Wil have Auburn in the NIT and another year if not NCAA then NIT again which is light years ahead of Barbee had that program going.

People. Bruce wasn't going to come into Auburn and turn that **** program around in the first year. But the fact is he will turn it around. Why? Because he's a great coach.
