WoW! Missing class, choking the chicken, and drugs. Really sounds like the role model. Thug with a capital T!

Surely the "discipline" chest beaters understand that if Giles were here this sort of thing wouldn't have happened under Kiffin's leadership.

Considering that Vinson is still on the team... there's probably a good chance it wouldn't have.

I don't know exactly how they're managing it but somehow they are. Could be they are able to keep them focused better than many staffs?

Nonetheless, Giles is not unlike some of UT's players who have not gotten into trouble.

this is too funny. when they got giles he was a great kid and gonna be all world at usc. they said bryce brown was a joke and we would have our hands full with him and probably get probation. now that giles gets suspended he hasnt done much anyway and the suspension was too harsh. typical carolina.

Kiffin has done a pretty damn good job of making sure guys get to class, seeing as how he and O go by and make sure they are there

Good. That supports my point that we have fans that preach discipline and then say they are glad Jarvis didn't come to UT. When in fact, had Jarvis come to UT he wouldn't be facing the skipping class problem thanks to Kiffin.

I heard he was suspended for choking the Gamecock mascot during an altercation at practice. The headline in TheState.com read:

"Giles suspended for choking chicken during practice"

They suspend you for that?

Once was plenty with ths silliness. OBTW, Lamecocks is just pathetic. They aren't on here calling you a toothless borderline retard, so give them the same courtesy.

Carolina also had an OL leave the team. The Carolina fans are saying 'I thought we were a new Carolina"
its always the "new carolina" when they play that weak ass schedule the 1st half of the season & get a few wins. by the last game their talkin about the next year & how good they will be because they usually lose 5 out of the last 6. wouldnt surprise me if they lose out.

Glad Tennessee didn't get Giles and we got Oku and Brown, because it looks like this guy might be a problem at USCe. I do admit the games i saw him in he looked good but i'm glad like i said we got our tandem of Oku and Brown, here's the story if anyone's interested.

Freshman running back Jarvis Giles suspended by USC for Alabama game | GreenvilleOnline.com | The Greenville News

The way I look at it... OKU > GILES and BROWN > GILES

And Brown and Oku (for a 2nd time) maybe wouldn't have even committed to UT if Giles wouldn't have decommitted. Remember, Brown and Oku were good friends before they were both committed to UT.

Long story short, it's funny how things work out, because UT made out great with BB and DO.

I can't imagine fielding a team of 70 or so 18-20 year olds and not having at least one or two each year who flunk out, get in a fight, get a dwi, a domestic assault, flunk a drug test, quit over playing time, lack work ethic, have a bad attitude, get arrested or something like that. I can't remember one person I grew up in who wouldn't have lived up to one of these sad lables. Hell, I think I just described todays youth in general and just wrote my first rap song! That explains why we pay good money to travel to Knoxville 100,000 strong to see these fine coaches and exceptional young men who are not only are intelligent, hard working, and know how to behave, they also run a 4.4 forty. What a great job! Just remember though, nobodys perfect and we can expect a few missteps from time to time also. I myself was guilty of a few of these sins at that age and I'm sure you were too. Keep up the good work guys and GO VOLS !

Giles has just as many yards with about 15 less carries behind a worse offensive line than brown, take it for what it's worth

& neither will play saturday but for different reasons. put it in perspective. giles is the 2nd leading rusher at usc with 245yds behind miles who has 268. thats sad. brown is our 2nd leading rusher with 250yds behind hardesty who has 672. wasnt giles an early enrollee? the new carolina is the same old carolina.

All I know is that Kiffin took over a roster that has historically been good for a half dozen drunk & disorderlies a year and abruptly turned them into a group that gets busted less often than the chess team.

I certainly wouldn't argue that Giles wouldn't have got in trouble in Knoxville with Kiffin in charge, but so far it seems pretty clear that the leash in Knoxville is a heck of a lot shorter now than it used to be. And presumably, therefore, than it might be in other SEC schools.

Doesn't mean much if the kid doesn't have the proper motivation to stay on the field.

Looks like he ended up at the right program.
