No one wants to notice the obvious. The kid was playing with a broken wrist. And everyone wants to bash him for gutting it out throughout the injury to try to help this team win.

^^^^so much this... the kid has obviously been hampered by that injury, but he still suited up,still played, and gave everything he had... sometimes you overcome the injury, sometimes the injury is too much to overcome,or the injury gets them thinking about it too much and causes some bad plays that they normally would make. I'd much rather have a bunch of guys who will play injured and fight through it than a bunch of pansies who"just don't feel like it today coach"...

This. Croom isn't the only player to ever get criticized and he wont be the last. Very solid game for Croom today.
Yep...and the thing about it is, he has a huge advantage over other WR's...in terms of competing for playing time. And definitely an advantage over most DB's he'll face. That is a size advantage. Can't coach that. Can't "watch the tape on work like heck...on it." He's the tallest pass-catcher we have, aside from Quinn, the TE.

If he can stay focused on his pass catching technique, and fiercely contest every ball thrown his way, he could develop into an Alshon Jeffrey type of receiver.

I understand someone starting this thread after the bashing Croom took after the OU game, but I'll make the same point now as I did then. Sometimes players have bad games and sometimes players have good games. That's true of even the best players, they just have more good games than bad. Kudos to Jason Croom on a good day.

I would like to apologize to him though for Bob Kesling being a complete failure at his job and calling him "Justin" Croom on more than one occasion. Really Bob? The least you could do is actually learn the names of our players.

If anyone needs bashing, it's Kesling. I turn the radio down and the TV volume up. Used to be the opposite with John Ward. Man I miss him.

Croom will be just fine. The kid is a freak with his athletic ability and big frame. With more confidence, he should be getting lots better. Glad the kid had a great game and looking forward to him abusing VH.
