Jawuan James and Brandon Willis

Why because he told the truth when they asked him about the girls? I never read where he said they were part of the University, he just said they had signs which they obviously did. I would rather have a kid who tells the truth than lies directly to the NCAA. That said I'm sure I haven't heard all the info so feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. :dunno:

The girls have denied having the sign. They admitted to going to the game. So I'm not sure how it is 'obvious' that they had a sign. Not that it is a violation, anyway.

Miller's dad didn't see the so called sign either...said they had some stuff that was about Corey and Brandon and nothing to do with TN

Ok well like I said, I may have gotten some of the info wrong. Thanks for correcting me :eek:k:

Yea, Lattimore hasn't said or done anything wrong here. If anything it's the NYT article carefully taking his words and making it fit their article to sound like it meant the worst.
Exactly, the journalist took a lot of liberties with the article to spice it up and make it sound like more of a story than it is. Why are we so quick to throw this kid under a bus? His comments could be taken entirely out of context. If the kids a Vol, I'll support him; if he goes somewhere else, I pity him but he is still a kid, I won't judge him by what this hack has wrote. Remember we have a ton of secondary violations also according to this douche bag.

not until he signs those papers in Feb. Essentially he can enroll in classes and still sign with another school I believe. Just like you can technically take classes at UT or Pellissippi while you are a senior in HS and still go play sporst at another school the following fall. However, I agree with you that it is unlikely that that will happen.

Once you start a class, (first day) the university has submitted paper work to pay for your schooling. So UT is paying your way on scholarship. You are locked in.. Doesn't matter what happens after that.

I am not agreeing with anything the NYT is saying. The fact some people seem to miss here is that the NCAA apparantly has been looking into this for some time. It didn't just happen this week. They must think something is there to spend all this time on it and now interveiwing the players.

The NCAA is a joke for the most part but who has the authority to question them is the sad thing.

Willis and James are all Vol and I do not think that will change. The problem comes with the NCAA in this case. If the NCAA feels these recruits along with others that have not commited were recrutied outside the window of guidelines they can keep them from attending UT. The school might not get into one bit of trouble but it could prevent them from going to UT. I think they are more upset about that if any. That is why the timing of this happens to be now because some of them are EEs.

But again nothing to worry about now until the NCAA does whatever they do. With these players enrolling soon I would bet that some kind of end statement will come soon from the NCAA.

Lane and Ed probably told Willis to take the visits to other schools to take the heat off him and Miller and whether or not the Orange Pride had anything to do with them committing to UT.

I love the idea of playing with Corey and helping get UT back to that elite level, but at this time I cannot truly say that my heart is completely set on Knoxville.

yea, when I read this, I get that, "he's all vol" feeling too.....

Like I said before, I am still a Volunteer commit unless things change.

phewww, that makes me feel better...... OBVIOUSLY you're still a vol commit unless things change.... I'm sitting down right now, unless I stand up....

yea, Ed and Lane probably told him to not have so much of his heart in knoxville too....

IMO, he's FSU bound. With the recent commits of Joyner and Luc, they're the it team especially on defense. Adding Grad didn't help us keep him either.

What does Grad? leaving have to do with Willis? He didn't recruit him.

The NCAA will spend 6 months deciding whether or not they think a kid's proctored SAT score improved too much to have been done without cheating. The amount of time involved doesn't mean jack.

The kid got pulled out of class and interviewed/interrogated. He's probably scared UT is about to be in some serious trouble. I think he's just refraining from saying I'm 100% for sure going to Knoxville no matter what because he's afraid the NCAA is going to do crucify our program. That's not going to happen, but if it did, he's going elsewhere and doesn't want to look like he broke his word.
