Woodward? Who is Woodward?

Has this been confirmed or is this a "source" rumor?

Please elaborate.

Yes very happy to see that he may not win a game I don't know but I got a good feeling about him right now...also TOS has a very interesting piece by a Memphis guy studs that CBJ told people at the TD club last year he would to be the next cola coach....tifwiw bit interesting to say the least

Not raggin' on you Farmer, because I'm on a phone too, but I can't for the life of me figure out what the last bit was supposed to be. He wanted to coach Pensacola? The Coca-Cola company team??

A little help here please... :)

Pittman while he did a great job did not need to be retained.

BJ needs someone who understands his blocking schemes in his offense.

RB and WR coaches are a little less offense-specific.

I would expect Graham may be the only one retained from the current staff.

What complex blocking schemes do you guys keep speaking of? There is only so many ways to pull a tackle or a guard. Other than pr blocking with larger lines, zone blocking for smaller lines, and pass blocking there really isn't anything over the top different from one scheme to the next. Pittman is a solid coach and an upgrade in coaching and recruiting from what Jones has had in the past. No need to let him walk.

Didn't say they were complex. Only that he needs someone who understands them and how they fit into the offense. BJ doesn't have the time to have Pittman learn everything. Appreciate the job he did, but if you hire the HC then you let him make the staff decisions. Ultimately he's accountable (See Dooley, Derek).

Great for Graham and adding T Martin in the mix will be even better. Know some want to keep Pittman but I'll gladly take Martin first. That's two former Vols on the offensive side and wonder if there are any on the deffensive side?

Ah, gotcha! thanks

fwiw, I think I initially typed "Farter" for your name, so I know how it goes. :p

eta: and you originally posted that he said that he "would be", not wanted to be, the next Vols coach. A pretty cocky attitude! I like it!

I thought Pittman made great strides with the line this year.

I think I saw somewhere that Hinshaw was being retained, too, but not sure if that is accurate.

Now, we need to get Tee Martin to come back home to Mama and be our quarterbacks coach. He may wind up as the offensive coordinator of the future.

Wonder how Leonard Little or Al Wilson would do as Defensive Coaches. Have no idea, if anyone knows please post. I don't know what they are even doing these days.

We could always try to lure back Chavis into the fold. We'd have instant success defensively if that happened.

Yeah, that's what most are saying.

Being that you're in or from Cincy, what are your thoughts on Jones?

Everyone here loved him (at least until he started interviewing). Good coach. I think he will recruit well, and the team will respond well to him. I'm not sure how he will translate results wise. I expect at least 7 wins next year. I'm pumped to see what he can do with about 100 times the talent he had at Cincy.
