Jaylen McCollough cleared of violating UT’s Code of Conduct, attorney says

I seem to recall a case involving a couple of really good UT players that were not allowed to play because some stupid chick told a bunch of lies. The prosecution even fought to keep phone records out of court, and the girls mysteriously lost their phones. The case was obviously trash from the very beginning, but yet, they were not allowed to play because they were guilty until proven innocent. It's time (particularly after UT has cleared him) that we follow the law and not persecute someone who is innocent until proven guilty. McCullough should play. End of story.

AJ Johnson. It affected years of NFL eligibility for him

How about we let the system that's in place work for JJs best interest first regardless of what game it happens to coincide with.

Though it worked this time, and does now and then, the system for many is broken. Glad to have our CB back just the same.

And if the other guy was so drunk he goes into the wrong apartment, how clearly can he really recall what happened.

Yep. A former coworker of mine had a gnarly scar on his calf (like, meat was missing and reconstructive efforts were made). He went to college in Atlanta, and got so sh*tfaced one night he wandered into a house he thought was the one his roomates and he shared. (In Morgan Freeman voice): But it was not his house, and after debating that point with one of the residents, said resident treated the intruder with a helping of bird shot. Ironically, when the dude was off work and in shorts, he wore a compression sock to hide the scar (which only drew more attention to the alcohol-related deformity).

Knowing the dude and how obnoxious (and generally out of his mind) he got when the office would go for beers after work, I could see the younger/dumber version of him doing something like that.

Moral of the story: know your limits and your address, kids. In the case of Tank, perhaps McCullough helped the inebriated interloper by conveying a lesson via percussive sign language.

Personally, I would have shot first and asked questions later. ( if he entered my home)
Maybe. Hope you never get put in the postion to find out.

I used to say stuff like that. Until I was in the perfect position to do so. How glad I am that I didn't can't be explained, but it still messed me up for several months and I still get chills every once in awhile when it comes to mind.

None of us out here in Volunteer land knows the full story. Maybe the guy was belligerent, refused to leave, became aggressive, accused JM of being in this guys apartment, and after that, the situation escalated. We need to learn to wait for the outcome before labeling the guy guilty.

System is working in this case because it has been followed the way it was intended not ones perception of how it should be

What you say is all too true in too many cases. However, when it comes to the courts, the system is broken, I've seen it up close and personal. And you ask A. J. Johnson and many men who got waylaid in divorce courts. But all that aside, it's great to have our CB back. I hope he's prepped and performs well against KY and GA. As we can expect both be pass happy against our porous pass defense. Every little bit helps.
