"Talent" like the talent that got whipped by Kentucky twice in a down year for them? Or talent like we won the SEC east with? Talent like we lost the tourney to 13 seed Miss. St.? Talent like we had against Okla. St.? I think we need well coached players not well talented players. We need a coach who can coach well talented players. A motivator. Now if you agree Bruce is a good motivator, which I believe he is then its the players. Do we have coachable players? This season the answer is no.

When did making it to a 64 teamed NCAA tournament become a success?

It was a success before CBP got here - now he has raised the bar which is not too bad.

Our current streak of 4 years in a row is not that bad either - there are only 10 teams with longer runs.

Ask FSU who hasn't been to the dance in what nine years? I will agree to an extent, what's the point if you are one and done, right?

To answer your second question, see your first question. The point is, to be a player with recruits, to even start to become respected nationally, you HAVE to make the Big Dance every year...even if it is one and done.

Translation:

Our point guard play was not as bad as last year.
Wayne And Tyler Will Stay
EVERYONE on that team just needs to grow up and get hungry and focused and learn to want to win. If you haven't read Doyle's column on CBS, it describes it. Satisfied, content laid-back players. Not like the under-rated, passed-over, overlooked players of Bruce Pearl's first 2-3 years here.

I too have to agree with Doyles column. A bunch of laid back guys who DIDN'T GET AFTER IT on defense at all.

Why didn't we press more, don't tell me because of our size!!!!!!!!!!!! Look at Louisville, size all over the floor and there guys get after it. In a word, we were SOFT!

I believe that once CBP gets these guys after it on HIS TERMS, then we are going to be scary good on defense. And to criticize this team is justifiable IMO, because I believe that had they played w/ the passion of CBP teams of past they would have gelled as a unit and played with more of a hunger that you would expect from a CBP coached team.

This team will turn things around when
A. It learns how to press like hell
B. When it finds a TRUE PG
C. And our big men start acting like big men....

Directed at Wayne Chism and Brian Williams, one thinks he is the next coming of Larry Bird, the other thinks he is the next Steve Nash....can you guess which is which.....

debatable, but one thing is for sure....if they are capable of more, they sure didn't show it on a consistent enough basis for it matter.

I agree with the poster above, hopson and tatum i think can develop in to productive guards. I'm still interested to see how negedu and williams continue to develop....though i could do w/out the williams' tantrums when a call doesn't go his way....that said, there's a good nucleus there. they have to learn better defense, and establish and identiy offensively.

someone has to come in and play the point much more effectively as well. Maze and Tabbl were ok at times, but neither offered the consistency needed when i look at other PG's at top level teams.

which...has...nothing at all to do with the coach...not at all
