Driskell to under go an Appendectomy and should be out for 2 to 3 weeka of fall camp. College Football Live did a little breakdown of the depth behind Driskell and apparently it doesn't exist. The 2nd string qb has been on campus for 4 years but hasn't thrown a pass in a game. A local writer in Gainesville said none of the backups have been able to run the offense effectively.

He'll play against us, always works out that way. Suspensions and injuries seem to cease when we have to play them.

Doubt he'll miss a beat by the time the season starts.

Not going to help him building a connection w his receivers. They haven't been able to throw in several years. Hope he heals up. That stuff is no fun to go through. Ready to see UF play Miami before they get to us.

Sadly, UF is not a passing team anyway. Not getting back into rhythm with the receivers ?

Excuse me, but what rhythm?

Doesn't matter if they had to play a complete noob, history tells us he'd likely have a coming out game against us.

What receivers?

dubose
patton
pittman
robinson
how does it help with him being out was basically my point? why try to argue? in no way does it help UFs offense with him being out 3 weeks. you stay on here taking digs at UT but its not like UF will be worth a damn on offense either. just stop.

That was the point of my post genius.

UF's receivers aren't a proven commodity.

Feel free to insert your head back up your a$$.

Actually, I think our receivers -- and really the passing aspect of our offense overall -- have pretty well proven that they suck moose di#k rather conclusively.

I hate when people make me agree with and defend you. :)

The difference in the UF and UT programs right now is that Florida has a consistent identity. For the last few years we have had a top 3 defense. Guys graduate and leave, we reload and are as good as before.

Offensively, we have not had a remarkable passing game since the 2004-2005 time frame. Even then it was so-so. In fact, since Spurrier, really Florida has been a running team. Occasional flashes of something, but never sustained.

So when UF fans look to a new year, we are pretty used to believing that defensively we are right there, whereas the question we always ask is whether the QB and the receivers are going to get their act together, and corollary is, even if they do, will the Oline stay healthy enough to let them get something going.

I can't speak for others -- and of course I'm always hopeful -- but I see no reason to expect 2013 UF to suddenly become proficient in picking up yards in the air. We are going to be a grind it out, 15 plays to go 60 yards and kick a field goal kind of a team, yet again.

If I were a betting man, and if they offered it in Vegas, I'd bet the "UF permanent under" for the entire year. This team will not be scoring a bunch. Indeed if come mid-Sept. we put up more than, say, 20 against UT, then my guess is you are going to have a very long season.
