Jeff Fisher Replacements

he got 1 ring yeah, but what after 13 or so years of not getting one, being the "been employed too long by his team not to win a championship" coach

if fisher won a ring tomorrow, they'd be the exact same coach

seriously, even the playoff record was a losing before that SB run, and he even had the 1 super bowl appearance previously where he lost in a pretty close game

they're not really that different; which is why i'm baffled that people talk about him like he's a massive and different change

That's a really big if. Since that's not going to happen, they are not the same coach.

Except Cowher won more games in the regular and post season, made the playoffs more often, had far fewer losing or 8-8 seasons and won the division much more often.

Cowher
15 years
8 Divisional Championships
10 Playoff appearances
12 Playoff wins
4 seasons with without a winning record
.623 career winning percentage

Fisher
17 Years
3 Divisional Championships
6 Playoff appearances
5 Playoff wins
9 seasons with without a winning record
.555 career winning percentage

so the coaching styles at all mean nothing? they both seem to have that whole "Run first, win by the run, heavy defense, etc" seemingly done over their entire careers.

(I do want to make note though, before the super bowl win - which was about his 14th year - that the playoff record was 8-9 i believe)

my point in it all was that these fans calling for a change want one that they think is going to be a big change, a greatly different one, and make things suddenly great; but when they're calling for cowher, I see alot of same/similar style and playcalling over the years to fisher's: there's alot of the same mentalities and styles of play that's been bothering these fans....

...but also there seems to be this over-mystique around all these people that a coach who already has a super bowl ring makes him automatically, year 1-2, greatest coach ever who will get you a super bowl, which is ridiculous; the calls for gruden especially so based on his career at Tampa

Gruden? Haha, he's not leaving Tampa. Guy has a dynasty down there, why would he leave. Besides, if he wouldn't leave Tampa to coach the Vols, why would he leave to coach the titans?

Gruden will retire from the Bucs.

You guys aren't seriously wanting to see Jeff Fisher fired, are you? It's almost a certainty that John Fox will be gone after this season, and I'd love to see Fisher get the Carolina job. He's a great coach, and I think he consistently does a lot with a little.
Seems like most Carolina fans want Gruden or Cowher. I could also see Leslie Frasier, Ron Rivera, or Jim Harbaugh getting a few looks.

Sorry. I don't think Fisher's going anywhere anytime soon. We just have a lot of whiney know-it-alls that think their team has to be in contention for a super bowl every single year and dont realize how unrealistic that expectation is.

You're missing something or is there sarcasm I'm not detecting? Gruden was fired from Tampa Bay two years ago.
